Spitfire Audio’s Originals Series Arrives on MPC

Two of the company’s popular virtual instruments are now available in dedicated MPC editions, bringing cinematic sound design to Akai Pro’s production platform.

Spitfire Audio and Akai Professional have officially expanded their partnership with the release of Originals Intimate Strings MPC Edition and Originals Cinematic Pads MPC Edition. First announced at NAMM ‘26, the new libraries mark the debut of Spitfire Audio’s acclaimed Originals series within the MPC ecosystem, giving producers access to world-class sounds optimized specifically for MPC hardware and workflows.

“Akai Professional gear has been with me for most of my music career — I even started out writing orchestral drama underscores on an MPC60. Bringing our Originals libraries into that ecosystem is such an exciting next step. These libraries were made to be played expressively, and the MPC line gives musicians exactly that. I can’t wait to see what musicians create when the two come together!” – Paul Thomson, Founder, Spitfire Audio

Recorded at London’s legendary AIR Studios, both libraries have been tailored for hands-on performance and fast creativity. Originals Intimate Strings MPC Edition delivers detailed chamber string recordings with expressive controls and onboard effects, while Originals Cinematic Pads MPC Edition offers a collection of evolving atmospheric textures designed for filmic production, ambient soundscapes, and modern electronic music. Together, the releases bring Spitfire Audio’s signature cinematic character directly to MPC users for the very first time.

“The MPC has always been about giving producers the tools to build something real — something with feeling. Bringing Spitfire Audio’s Originals libraries into the MPC ecosystem means producers now have access to some of the most expressive, cinematic sounds ever recorded, right at their fingertips on the pads. Whether you’re scoring a scene or building a beat, Intimate Strings and Cinematic Pads were made for exactly the kind of music MPC producers make.” – Andy Mac, Creative Global Marketing, Akai Professional
