Splice Introduces Splice Create, a New DAW Built to Rethink Music Production

The new music studio combines Splice’s extensive sound library with voice and text controls, AI-assisted tools, and interactive guidance.

Splice is expanding its music creation platform with the launch of Splice Create, a new digital audio workstation (DAW) designed to help producers turn musical ideas into finished tracks while learning new techniques along the way. Currently available in beta as a Mac app, Create brings together a collection of more than three million human-made, fully licensed sounds and samples with an assistive experience aimed at making music production more accessible and keeping creative ideas moving.

“Most music tools either make the song for you, or assume you already know how to do everything. Create is different—it’s a music creation studio that helps you make the music you want. We’re clearing a path so that anyone who has felt the pull to make music, but has felt blocked by the process, can get started and share their unique stories with the world through song.” – Kakul Srivastava, Splice CEO

The new studio introduces voice and text controls that let users handle tasks such as grouping drums, applying effects, and managing repetitive production processes through natural language. Its Point Mode feature adds an interactive pointer that walks creators through the interface and demonstrates techniques step by step. Create also connects with Splice’s royalty-free sound library, Splice INSTRUMENT virtual instruments, and native VST integrations, with audio export available for use in other DAWs. Splice says creators retain ownership of their original work, and the platform’s AI features follow the company’s established AI guidelines and principles.

According to GRAMMY-nominated MC and producer Skepta, who received the Mercury Prize with an album he released through his own label: “I’d been messing with Innocent Smile for years, added a break beat from Splice, and it came alive. Create gives people just starting out that same feeling, and you pick up how it works as you go. Big up Splice, always there to cook with, even on my way to Ibiza at 30,000 feet.”

Splice Create is free to get started, with a Create Pro subscription available for users ready to share their music. The introductory subscription price is $9.99 per month.
