Out now via Insomniac Records, this high-impact pairing shifts from acid-tinged techno into a full-throttle drum & bass finale ahead of Brown’s debut LP, ‘Panic Attack.’
Available now through Insomniac Records comes a highly-anticipated collaboration between two electronic music mainstays, Eli Brown and Dimension. “Frequency” thrives on contrast, bringing Eli Brown’s driving techno sound into collision with Dimension’s drum & bass instincts. Vocal hooks catapult the track as acid-flecked synths and pounding rhythms build tension, giving way to a cinematic melodic bridge before the production shifts gears into a rapid-fire drum & bass second half. Rather than simply layering two genres together, the collab uses that transition as its defining moment, delivering a sharp change in energy that feels built for a packed dancefloor.
“Rob (Dimension) and I have been mates for ages, more than 10 years by now. I’ve always loved his stuff and would consider myself one of his earliest supporters. Back when I was still playing drum n bass, I played his tunes all the time in my sets, and vice versa. We’ve actually never been in the studio together, so working on Frequency and releasing it on my debut album is super special. I absolutely love the track and think it brings the worlds of techno and drum n bass together perfectly.” – Eli Brown
The track’s momentum comes from the way it balances atmosphere with impact. The vocal-led passages create space before the harder rhythms take over, while the switch into drum & bass gives the closing stretch a fresh burst of intensity. “Frequency” is the fourth single from Brown’s forthcoming debut album, Panic Attack, due November 13 via Insomniac Records, following “Electrify,” “It’s Like That,” and “Damaged.” With both producers drawing on their shared connection to the UK rave underground, the duo makes a compelling case for letting techno and drum & bass meet at full force – and we’re digging every second of the pairing.
