The major music tech move brings together iconic hardware and software platforms under one umbrella.
A major shift is underway in the world of music technology, as inMusic and Native Instruments announce a definitive agreement that would bring two of the industry’s most influential companies together. With both brands deeply embedded in modern DJing, production, and live performance workflows, the acquisition signals a potential new era of tighter integration between hardware and software ecosystems.
Native Instruments has long been synonymous with flagship creative tools such as Kontakt and Traktor, alongside the widely used iZotope, Plugin Alliance, and Brainworx product lines. Combined with inMusic’s powerhouse roster – including Akai Professional, Moog Music, Denon DJ, and more – the deal represents one of the most significant partnerships the industry has seen in years, with creators worldwide watching closely for what comes next.
“Native Instruments represents everything we look for in a partner: exceptional products, a deeply engaged community, and a clear point of view on what musicians want. Our work together has already shown how strong this combination can be. Bringing these platforms together allows us to move faster, deepen integration, and build better tools for creators.” – Jack O’Donnell, CEO of inMusic
This acquisition also builds on an already strong relationship between inMusic and Native Instruments, following their landmark 2025 collaboration that introduced NKS integration for Akai Pro MPK and M-Audio Oxygen controllers, while also bringing Native Instruments’ sounds to the MPC standalone platform for the first time – highlighting the complementary strengths and shared creative vision between both companies.
“Finding the right partner has been our goal throughout this process. With inMusic we have found a partner whose beliefs and ambitions align with ours — and whose understanding of what these brands mean to musicians and producers gives us real confidence in what comes next. This is the beginning of a new chapter for Native Instruments and for the community that has stood with us.” – Nick Williams, CEO of Native Instruments
