Garrix has teamed with the 22-time GRAMMY Award-winning U2 for their “Fireflies” collab following premiere during Tomorrowland W1.
Martin Garrix has teamed up with 22-time GRAMMY Award-winning, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame band U2 for their first collaboration, “Fireflies.” Following its debut last weekend, the track sees its official release today (July 24) through STMPD RCRDS/Darkroom Records.
The track was first premiered during Martin’s headline showcase at Tomorrowland W1 set last week, where The Edge made a surprise appearance to perform it live for the first time. “Fireflies” is an infectious production that seamlessly blends Bono’s vocals – and the star-power of U2 – for one powerful end result. A truly contagious mid-summer anthem, “Fireflies” has already been dominating the airwaves, charts, DJ sets, and playlists, alike.
“Fireflies” comes following a long friendship and creative partnership between Martin and U2. Most recently, Martin served as producer of U2’s “Scars,” which is featured on their latest EP, Easter Lily. “Fireflies” also continues an exciting run of powerhouse collaborations for Garrix, who just dropped the “Bizarre” with Madonna for her CONFESSIONS II album, as well as the much anticipated “Repeat It” with Ed Sheeran.
