Denon DJ has just introduced the PRIME 4 G2 today (Sept. 1), a new four-channel, four-deck standalone DJ system aimed at DJs who want more creative control without relying on a laptop. Building on the popular PRIME 4 platform, the G2 adds a new generation of performance features, including industry-first MPCe multi-zone performance pads, onboard Stems rendering, and built-in DMX lighting control.
At the center of the PRIME 4 G2 are 16 velocity and pressure-sensitive pads with 3D-sensing technology. The pads can handle multiple functions — including Hot Cues, Stems, Rolls, FX, and lighting — which gives DJs expanded control from a single performance surface. The system also features full-size 8-inch jog wheels with dynamic displays, a 10.1-inch HD touchscreen, and an upgraded 8-core processor with 4GB of RAM for faster navigation and smoother standalone operation.
Designed for everything from mobile events and weddings to clubs, festivals, and livestreams, the PRIME 4 G2 also incorporates Wi-Fi music streaming and SoundSwitch-powered DMX lighting control. DJs can access services including Amazon Music Unlimited, Apple Music, Beatport, SoundCloud Go+, and TIDAL, while OmniSource architecture is designed to bring standalone media and software platforms together in one workflow.
