Friend of DJX/DJ LIFE, this New Jersey singer/performer joined Team Adam Levine after a standout Blind Audition during Season 30 of NBC’s singing competition.
New Jersey vocalist Destinee Monroe is continuing her journey on NBC’s The Voice after making a strong impression during the Season 30 Blind Auditions. Performing Mötley Crüe’s “Home Sweet Home,” Monroe earned chair turns from Adam Levine, Queen Latifah, and Riley Green before choosing Levine as her coach. The performance showcased her rock vocal style and earned praise from the coaches as she secured her place in the competition.
Monroe’s appearance on The Voice marks another opportunity for her to pursue a career she has worked toward since childhood. Her story also has a local connection: Destinee, and her father, Edward Monroe, are friends of DJX Show and DJ LIFE, making her progress on the national stage especially exciting for our community. We’re thrilled to see one of our attendees and friends progress to this stage so far in the famed reality competition series. For years, we’ve worked hand-in-hand with Ed Monroe on DJX Show, who serves as Entertainment Audio-Visual Lead and A/V Sales representative at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
Even prior to her stint thus far on the popular music competition program, Monroe is no stranger to the music industry. Signed to Interscope Records at just 12 years old alongside her sister, Paris, she performed as part of the duo Destinee & Paris and toured internationally, including opening for Britney Spears. Her experience also includes backing vocals on Season 10 of American Idol, years of live performances as a guitarist and vocalist, work with the Billy Walton Band, and appearances with the 1980s tribute band Jessie’s Girl. She has continued developing her own music while performing across a range of genres.
As Season 30 moves forward, viewers can follow Monroe’s journey with Team Adam as the competition progresses toward the Live Shows. Voting is not open during every round, so fans should check the show’s official channels for eligible artists, voting windows, and instructions when voting becomes available.
We encourage you to vote for Destinee as her show journey continues! For The Voice voting information, visit https://www.nbc.com/VoiceVote.
