The free update for Live 12 users introduces real-time audio streaming over local networks, improved Stem Separation and more.
Ableton has released Live 12.4, a major free update for all Live 12 users that expands creative workflows while pushing collaboration and hardware integration forward. The headline addition is Link Audio, a new feature that allows users to stream audio in real time between compatible devices on the same local network – making it easier than ever to connect multiple setups without extra cables, interfaces, or manual latency adjustments.
Live 12.4 also brings crucial refinements to core production tools, including improved Stem Separation functionality which now allows users to process specific time selections instead of entire clips. The update also introduces Learn View, a redesigned learning hub combining short instructional videos and written guidance to help users better understand Live’s core concepts. On the device side, Erosion has been updated with more modulation control and real-time spectrum visualization, while Chorus-Ensemble and Delay both receive new controls and expanded modulation options.
Hardware users are also getting get a major boost with the update. Push gains deeper MIDI mapping functionality, including the ability to create and modify controller mappings in Push Standalone, adjust control scripts, and streamline custom setups. Move 2.0 and Note 2.0 arrive alongside the update, adding audio tracks, Link Audio support, and new effects like Auto Shift and Erosion – and let’s not forget about expanded recording options and warping tools for reshaping audio.
