Serato DJ 5.0 Public Beta Introduces Lucid Beatgrids & More

Latest software update brings a rebuilt beatgrid engine, expanded streaming access, and new performance tools designed to streamline DJ workflows.

Serato has launched the public beta for Serato DJ 5.0, introducing a series of workflow and performance upgrades led by Lucid Beatgrids, the company’s newly rebuilt beatgrid analysis engine. Designed to provide greater accuracy across both fixed and fluctuating-BPM music, the technology automatically detects tempo changes and downbeats, reducing the need for manual beatgrid adjustments and making more challenging tracks easier to prepare and perform. The update also adds Open Streaming, allowing DJs to access multiple streaming services simultaneously while mixing with tracks from their local libraries.

    New in Serato DJ 5.0:

    • Lucid Beatgrids: More accurate beatgrids with automatic detection of tempo changes and downbeats.
    • Greater Beatgrid Control: New Flexible analysis mode, an improved Fixed mode, enhanced editing controls, and waveform BPM labels.
    • Cue Loops: DJ Pro users can turn any loop into a Cue Loop and trigger it directly from a Hot Cue.
    • Open Streaming: Log into multiple streaming services at once and mix across providers and a local library.
    • Improved Streaming Browsing: Streaming providers appear as individual crates with a dedicated search dropdown.
    • Streaming BPM & Key Data: BPM and key information can be viewed before analysis on supported services, including Beatport, SoundCloud, Tidal, and Spotify.

Lucid Beatgrids and Open Streaming are available in both Serato DJ Pro and Lite, while Cue Loops is exclusive to DJ Pro. The public beta gives DJs an opportunity to explore the new features and help shape the software ahead of its official release.
