A new wave of creative tools arrives for producers, DJs, and Push users as Ableton Live 12.3 enters public beta.
Ableton has officially opened the public beta for Live 12.3 – and it’s already shaping up to be one of the most exciting updates yet. The release introduces new ways to manipulate audio, integrate samples, and perform live, while also expanding expressive possibilities for Push 3. For artists and producers already working in Live 12, this update takes workflows to the next level with a balance of innovation and usability.
One of the biggest highlights is Stem Separation, now available in Live 12 Suite and Push Standalone. Powered by Music.AI, it allows users to isolate vocals, drums, bass, and other elements from any audio clip directly in Session or Arrangement View. There’s also Splice integration, making it easier than ever to browse, preview, and sync Splice samples within Live’s Browser. Another major workflow improvement comes with Bounce Groups and Paste Bounced Audio, letting you quickly render full Group tracks or drop bounced clips into any track with ease.
Devices and creative tools also see substantial updates. Auto Pan has been refreshed as Auto Pan-Tremolo, offering expanded modulation control and now available in Move, Note, and Live Lite. A brand-new Generators Pack by Iftah adds tools like Sting for acid basslines and Patterns for instant percussive rhythms, while sequencers and chord tools from previous packs gain new editing functions. All built-in devices now feature an A/B comparison mode, making it simple to test parameter changes on the fly.
Push 3 users aren’t left behind as Live 12.3 enhances its role as a standalone hub. The new XYZ pad layout enables expressive real-time control of racks and effects, while the Rhythm Generator layout brings intuitive beat-making with vertical sliders. Touch-sensitive step editing adds another layer of expressive performance, and compatibility with class-compliant audio interfaces expands Push’s flexibility for recording, live sets, and routing.
