Paul Oakenfold Tour Diary Week 8: Paul’s United Champions tour continues with The Crystal Method and Liquid Todd, autographed Perfecto Heritage Jersey contest continues.
Los Angeles – As we move into the third week of the United Champions tour with The Crystal Method, we find ourselves on the Canadian leg. We’ve now covered every North American country that is hosting the World Cup. The tour is going really well, but time is flying by as we try to fit in attending games, media and promo for my new single and album, and keeping up with all the scores.
We started in Winnipeg, where I headlined Summer of Sound Fest. It was my first time in Winnipeg. A sleepy town, but I enjoyed it. Great crowd!
We then moved on to Vancouver the next day, where I DJed at the FIFA Fan Zone after the Switzerland/Algeria game, despite the pouring rain. I really do want to thank everyone who came out and danced in the rain with me. It was a really special moment.
The next day, I did local promo for my record, a few radio interviews, and then I saw some friends. We went to Kavita, an amazing Indian restaurant, for a five-course dinner, which was incredible!
The following morning, we flew to Toronto where we met up with Liquid Todd from Sirius XM, who has been doing a great job on the tour. And it was good to be back in Toronto to play a sold-out show at The Mod Club!
Flew back to Los Angeles for a three-day recording session, and then we start the final leg of the tour, which is two weeks in the U.S. for the last seven shows of the United Champions Tour. It starts Thursday at the legendary 9:30 Club in Washington, D.C. Hope to see you all there!
