Dirtybird Campout x Northern Nights Music Festival Unite

In a new era for independent music festivals, the two join forces for July 18-20, 2025 event at Cook’s Valley Campground in Northern California.

Two of Northern California’s most beloved independent festivals, Dirtybird Campout and Northern Nights Music Festival, are coming together for an unprecedented weekend of music, art, cannabis, wellness, and community. Taking place July 18-20, 2025, the historic event will unfold at Cook’s Valley Campground, a stunning venue on the Humboldt/Mendocino County Line, nestled among the towering Redwoods along the scenic Eel River.

This first-of-its-kind partnership marks a new era for the festival industry, one built on collaboration over competition. By joining forces, Dirtybird Campout and Northern Nights are proving that independent festivals can unite their unique identities, share resources, and create something even greater than the sum of their parts – and that’s without sacrificing the originality and communal spirit that make them unique.

For over 20 years, Dirtybird Campout has been a sanctuary for dance music lovers, known for its playful, summer camp-inspired atmosphere. From eccentric games and team challenges to noteworthy DJ sets, the fest has fostered an inclusive, free-spirited community unlike any other. Meanwhile, with over a decade of innovation, Northern Nights Music Festival has made waves by redefining the intersection of music, cannabis, and technology. As the first festival to introduce legal on-site cannabis sales and consumption, Northern Nights has consistently pushed the boundaries of what a festival experience can be.

This new partnership blends Dirtybird’s high-energy, bass-driven beats and interactive fun with the lush Northern Nights riverfront ambiance and forward-thinking approach to festival culture. The result? A one-of-a-kind hybrid experience where attendees can enjoy the best of both worlds: Dirtybird’s signature party vibes alongside Northern Nights’ diverse musical lineup, immersive art installations, and cutting-edge wellness programming.

“To mark 20 years of Dirtybird, we knew bringing back the Dirtybird Campout experience was a must. While many festivals are canceling due to rising costs, we sought a partner who shares our values of what a festival experience should be, and we’re doing it bigger than ever. Northern Nights is a perfect choice—their vision aligns seamlessly with ours, making this collaboration effortless. We can’t wait for fans to participate in the best of both worlds”, says Deron Delgado, Dirtybird Label Manager.

Beyond the music, this collaboration will introduce new ways for festivalgoers to connect with artists, record labels, and each other. Expect top-tier stage productions, interactive experiences, and revolutionary music festival technology that reimagines how attendees engage with their surroundings. From wellness workshops and cannabis activations to camp-style games and surprise pop-up performances, this event promises a weekend of exploration, self-expression, and community-building.

Nestled in the heart of the Emerald Triangle, Cook’s Valley Campground provides the perfect setting for this trailblazing event. Just 190 miles north of San Francisco, this breathtaking natural oasis offers serene river access, towering Redwood groves, and an unparalleled connection to the beauty of Northern California.

Andrew “BLAP” Borgelt, Co-Founder of Northern Nights adds, “Northern Nights has always been guided by the mission to bring the city to the country, a vision that began with a Dirtybird Showcase at our very first festival. This collaboration is more than just a partnership – it’s a powerful demonstration of what festivals can achieve when they unite to create something bigger than ourselves. Known for pushing boundaries and redefining how music, experiences, and nature intertwine, Northern Nights is thrilled to join forces with Dirtybird to craft an unforgettable summer weekend. By blending Dirtybird’s signature camp games and vibrant energy with the unparalleled magic of the Redwoods, we’re creating a festival like no other. Meet me in the Redwoods!”

This partnership isn’t just about throwing a party of epic proportions – it’s about celebrating the values that make independent festivals so vital: community, creativity, inclusivity, and a deep reverence for nature. By working together, Dirtybird Campout and Northern Nights are setting a bold example for the future of festivals, showing that unity and innovation can lead to something truly extraordinary. Don’t miss your chance to be part of this historic festival moment.
