John Summit & Hayla Reunite to Make Us “Shiver”

The Valentine’s Day release wows electronic dance music fans, as the pair seek to have back-to-back biggest songs of the year.

Last year was the year of “Where You Are,” John Summit and Hayla’s initial original pairing – and to start off this year, the pair is back at it again with “Shiver.” Fittingly seeing its official release on Valentine’s Day (Wednesday, February 14), “Shiver” has already secured itself as one of the year’s biggest and most anticipated releases.

As John Summit and Hayla reunite on “Shiver,” their magical musical spark is prevalent from the very start. DJ LIFE cover star from August 2023, John Summit, and UK’s multifaceted songwriter and vocalist Hayla, once again deliver a masterful electronic anthem that’s not only filled with raw emotion, but steadily remains powerfully uplifting in a tastefully euphoric, genre-bending fashion.

Following his multi-night sold-out run at The Brooklyn Mirage in 2023, John Summit will be performing at the World’s Most Famous Arena, Madison Square Garden. His upcoming NYC show at The Garden on June 29 sold out within hours, which should come as no surprise given John’s recent success. Ahead of his MSG show this Summer, John will also be performing two days each weekend during Coachella 2024 – two solo sets as well as two sets as Everything Always, his moniker alongside GRAMMY Award-nominated DJ and producer Dom Dolla.

“Last year, Hayla and I had one of the biggest dance records of the year with “Where You Are”,  so we knew we had to follow it up and it was much easier said than done. It took about 9 months start to finish to get this record done, but damn it was worth it. This might be my favorite record to date — definitely the most emotion I put behind a song.” – John Summit

“Shiver” is their second single together following their massive collaboration “Where You Are.” The track peaked at No. 8 on the Billboard Hot Dance/Electronic Songs Chart and reached No. 1 on the U.S. Dance radio chart. Currently, “Where You Are” boasts over 500 million Spotify streams alone – and it’s still being played in DJ sets across the world in its original mix as well as official remixes and bootleg edits.

“Shiver is all about that moment when you finally start to feel your emotions again and feel alive”, says Hayla. “Being with that one person, or with a group of people that make you want to live in that moment forever. That feeling we all experience – the tingle or the spark through your whole body. The line ‘Can you feel it now’ is almost a self-reflection and realization that this moment is exactly what you needed.” – Hayla
