Together, Alison Wonderland and WINK blend atmospheric vocals, nostalgic emotion, and bass-heavy production on their new FMU Records collab.
On her first independently released track in over a decade, Alison Wonderland returns with “RESCUE U” alongside WINK – available today (October 1). Opening with a vulnerable, vocal-driven atmosphere, the track gradually builds tension around Alison’s unmistakable emotional delivery. The track takes its time getting to the payoff, allowing the production to expand naturally before dropping into a dense, festival-ready arrangement. WINK’s bass-focused sound design gives the record its weight, while the melodic elements keep it grounded in the kind of emotional territory Alison Wonderland has become known for.
“It’s my favorite song I’ve written, and I love how nostalgic it feels,” said Alison Wonderland. “When I close my eyes, it just brings me back to my childhood for some reason. And I can’t explain why. And I think WINK brings such a freshness to what I created. And us being friends made it really easy to work together. This feels like a really big song. It feels like something I’d wanna hear at festivals, in my car, and at a house party. And it’s also my son’s favorite song of all time. Enjoy RESCUE U.”
There is a strong sense of contrast throughout the track, moving from intimate and reflective passages into heavier sections without losing its emotional core. WINK’s influence brings a fresh edge through bassline and trap-inspired textures, while Wonderland’s presence gives “RESCUE U” a personal quality that makes the collab feel more substantial than a straightforward vocal-and-bass pairing. As her first independent release in more than a decade, the track also feels like a fitting introduction to this next chapter.
“‘RESCUE U’ was instantly one of my all time favorite songs I’ve ever worked on,” said WINK. “Alex is a close friend and mentor so working together felt super natural. We were immediately on the same page when we started working on it, and the song then grew and materialized into what it is now. Seeing all the reactions when we play it live has been really great to see so i’m very excited for it to officially come out!
