VirtualDJ 2026 Part 3 Pushes AI Further Into the DJ Workflow

The latest update introduces ShoutOut and AI Scripting, adding new ways for DJs to create, customize and control their performances.

VirtualDJ is continuing its AI-focused 2026 rollout with Part 3, adding two new technologies aimed at giving DJs more creative control during live sets. Following earlier features including Lyrics Waveforms, AI Prompt, Karaoke, AI Visuals and Fluid Beatgrid, the latest software update brings ShoutOut and AI Scripting into the mix, with both designed around practical applications rather than AI as a novelty.

ShoutOut puts generative voice technology directly inside the DJ workflow, allowing users to create custom voiceovers or replace lyrics while a track is playing. That opens the door to personalized drops, live edits and announcements without having to leave the software. AI Scripting takes VirtualDJ’s extensive customization capabilities in another direction, letting DJs describe what they want in natural language and having the software turn those instructions/prompts into working scripts for controls, workflows, and other behaviors.

Part 3 continues VirtualDJ’s broader approach of using AI to solve specific challenges and expand what DJs can do, from working with stems and musical structure to generating visuals, creating karaoke versions and adapting to changing tempos. The update also adds compatibility with new controllers, streaming catalogs and performance improvements, and is available starting today (Sept. 15).
