Includes new Track Pin navigation, expanded Speech-to-Text tools, MPEG-H support, Dolby Headphone Personalization, and more.
Avid has released Pro Tools 2026.4 today (April 30), delivering a major round of upgrades aimed at speeding up workflows, enhancing immersive audio production, and expanding creative tools for music and postproduction professionals.
Built for creators working across music, film, television, and broadcast, the latest update introduces better precision with regards to session navigation tools, deeper transcription functionality, and new support for modern spatial and immersive audio standards.
“This new version of Pro Tools is all about helping creators stay focused, work more efficiently, and meet the demands of modern production. Whether they are mixing immersive audio, navigating complex sessions, or exploring new sounds, Pro Tools 2026.4 delivers the tools creators need to stay in their creative flow and produce their best work.” – Chris Winsor, Director of Pro Tools Product Management at Avid
One of the standout additions is Track Pin, a new feature designed to help engineers stay focused inside large sessions with heavy track counts. By allowing users to lock key tracks into place in the edit window – such as lead vocals or dialogue – Track Pin reduces constant scrolling and keeps critical session elements visible at all times, streamlining editing and mixing during complex projects.
Pro Tools 2026.4 also expands Avid’s integrated Speech-to-Text tools, delivering workflow improvements that make transcription more useful across processing and export tasks. Transcription data can now carry through to rendered files during AudioSuite, Commit, Consolidate, and export operations, with additional flexibility that allows users to select specific words, sentences, or speakers on the timeline, choose which tracks show transcription lanes, and select CPU or GPU processing for analysis.
New in Pro Tools 2026.4:
- Track Pin: Lock essential tracks in place within large sessions for faster navigation and improved focus.
- Enhanced Speech-to-Text: Transcription data now carries through renders and exports, with flexible word, sentence, and speaker selections plus CPU/GPU processing options.
- MPEG-H Support: Object-based immersive audio workflows tailored for broadcast and streaming.
- MPEG-H Renderer Plugin: Included for Studio and Ultimate users, enabling interactive mixes with multiple languages, dialogue enhancement, and customizable spatial positioning.
- Dolby Headphone Personalization: Improved Dolby Atmos mixing accuracy via custom listening profiles created with Sonarworks’ SoundID Tools app.
- Massive X Player & New Sound Content: Native Instruments’ powerful synth engine and new expansion packs integrated directly into Pro Tools, along with updated Inner Circle rewards.
