Apple Music arrives on AlphaTheta’s flagship CDJ-3000X, unlocking seamless access to over 100 million tracks for DJs worldwide.
Apple Music has officially rolled out integration with AlphaTheta’s next-generation CDJ-3000X, marking a meaningful shift in how DJs can discover, prepare, and perform music directly from streaming platforms. Through the new StreamingDirectPlay feature, Apple Music subscribers can tap into the platform’s full catalog of more than 100 million songs, along with regularly updated playlists, straight from the hardware.
Once CloudDirectPlay is enabled and users are signed into Apple Music via rekordbox, authentication is quick and seamless – simply hold a smartphone logged into Apple Music over the CDJ-3000X’s NFC touchpoint and you’re ready to play.
Built on decades of CDJ heritage, the CDJ-3000X pairs familiar club-standard reliability with modern enhancements, including a bright 10.1-inch touchscreen designed for fast browsing and precise control. The addition of Apple Music compatibility expands its creative reach even further, allowing DJs to preview tracks on the fly, explore new sounds mid-session, and fine-tune selections without being locked into a pre-built library. It also strengthens Apple Music’s growing DJ ecosystem, which already spans platforms like rekordbox, Serato, djay Pro, Engine DJ, and hardware from Denon DJ, Numark, and RANE.
“AlphaTheta has long been at the forefront of music technology, pushing the boundaries of creativity in the space for over 30 years. We’re excited to have Apple Music integrated into the new CDJ-3000X, bringing the power of 100 million songs and our editorial curation to users around the world.” – Stephen Campbell, Global Head of Dance, Electronic & DJ Mixes
To coincide with the launch, Apple Music has introduced a dedicated DJ with Apple Music hub, featuring curated playlists, guides, and tools tailored to DJs using the CDJ-3000X. Subscribers can also dive into the AlphaTheta DJ Mix Curator Page on Apple Music for exclusive mixes and handpicked selections designed to spark inspiration. Alongside initiatives like Apple Music DJ Mixes and the 24/7 Apple Music Club radio station, the integration signals Apple Music’s continued investment in DJ culture.
