Welcome to the January 2026 edition of Behind the Wedding Music – your go-to guide for building unforgettable wedding playlists. Each month, we spotlight brand-new tracks along with notable lyrics, emotional context, and fun facts to help DJs curate the perfect soundtrack for the big day.

New wedding song ideas from December 2025:

    Dive Into The Ocean

Alok, Zeeba & Portugal. The Man

    December 26, 2025

An uptempo EDM track with cool vibes for a cocktail hour or background songs as guests arrive.

Notable Lyrics: “I just wanna dive into your ocean / Deep inside your love”

Fun Facts: Zeeba, with his former band Bonavo, won a Grammy Amplifier. The award is one of the most coveted awards in the industry for recognizing rising stars worldwide. Zeeba, DJ Alok, and Bruno Martini released the electronic hits “Hear Me Now” and “Never Let Me Go”.

    So Sweet

    Coyote Theory

    December 26, 2025

A perfect summer vibe as a background song or to warm up winter weddings.

Notable Lyrics: “You’re my only one / You’re my summer sun / You’re my Shangri-La la la / All I want and all that I need”

Fun Facts: Coyote Theory is an Orlando-based indie band that became a global phenomenon after their 2011 song “This Side of Paradise” went viral on TikTok. They were the first band ever to be “featured” on the homepage of The Pirate Bay. Band member Jayson Lynn noticed people were illegally downloading their EP. Instead of getting angry, he messaged the site’s owners and asked them to promote the band.

    always be there

    House of EL

    December 25, 2025

A jazzy soul track made for a background song during a reception meal.

Notable Lyrics: “Always be there / I’ll always be there for you / Oh, oh, always be there”

Fun Facts: House of EL (Kieron McIntosh) is a British multi-instrumentalist and producer. He has been called a “bridge” between jazz, hip-hop, and gospel. The song is the lead single for his 2026 audio-visual project, titled ‘The Book of EL’. Interestingly, the project’s name and release sparked a huge crossover in online searches with DC Comics’ “House of El” Superman series.

    Out Of My Body

    Anyma feat. EJAE

    December 19, 2025

EJAE described the track as a pounding dance record ready for any EDM set.

Notable Lyrics: “You take me / Out of my body / Somewhere outside space and time / Where you’re only mine”

Fun Facts: Before this collaboration, EJAE became a star in 2025 as the voice behind “Golden”, the record-breaking hit from the movie KPop Demon Hunters. EJAE wrote the hits like Red Velvet’s “Psycho” and Aespa’s “Drama”.

Give Me Something (for Arknights Endfield)

    OneRepublic

    December 12, 2025

An uptempo track that gaming fans will appreciate and pop-rock fans will enjoy.

Notable Lyrics: “I looked for gold / Then it turned, it turned to rust / I’ll look for fate / If it leads, it leads to us”

Fun Facts: The song is the theme song for the upcoming action role-playing game ‘Arknights: Endfield’ with a global launch date of January 22, 2026. The release of the track coincided with a major marketing milestone: ‘Arknights: Endfield’ surpassed 30 million pre-registrations worldwide.

    Let It All Out

    LEISURE

    December 12, 2025

The band describes the track as a celebratory and freeing anthem – perfect as a background song.

Notable Lyrics: “’Cause I can’t take my eyes off you / All of this we’ve done before / You somehow make it feel brand new”

Fun Facts: LEISURE is a New Zealand soul-electronic group. The track was released after their fifth studio album, ‘Welcome To The Mood’. They were recently inspired by the architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright. The band even filmed parts of their recent visual content at Taliesin West, Wright’s desert sanctuary in Arizona.

    Satisfaction Skank

Fatboy Slim & The Rolling Stones

    December 11, 2025

A blend of classic rock and dance for a party starter.

Notable Lyrics: “Right about now (the funk soul brother) / Check it out now (the funk soul brother)”

Fun Facts: Fatboy Slim first created this mashup in late 1999. Because he couldn’t get the rights to release it, he used it as his “secret weapon” to close his DJ sets for over two decades. When The Rolling Stones finally gave their blessing for the official 2025 release, they reportedly delivered the original 1965 master tapes (stems) in an armored van.

Cuando No Era Cantante RMX (Remix)

El Bogueto, Anuel AA, Fuerza Regida & Yung Beef

    December 10, 2025

A party song that represents the Mexican reggaeton genre.

Notable Lyrics: “And how about we see each other again? / To kill that urge to see each other / To give you those kisses”

Fun Facts: This remix is considered a historic moment for the Mexican reggaeton scene. While Mexican music was dominated by Corridos Tumbados for years, El Bogueto used this track to prove that “Reggaeton Mexa” (Mexican-style reggaeton) could compete globally. The remix is a rare “four-way” cultural bridge: Mexico, Spain, Puerto Rico, and the USA (Mexican-American).

    ROMÁNTICA

    Maria Becerra, Jay Wheeler, XROSS

    December 10, 2025

The song features real-life feelings of being in love and a salsa vibe.

Notable Lyrics: “And once again I believe that love is forever / And I know you feel it when you look at me like that”

Fun Facts: “ROMÁNTICA” is a surprise bonus track added to Maria Becerra’s third studio album, QUIMERA. Maria recorded the track with live musicians featuring real congas, trumpets, and trombones to capture a classic Puerto Rican salsa sound.

    Giving Her Away

    Luke Combs

    December 5, 2025

A new song to play for a father figure to walk the bride down the aisle.

Notable Lyrics: “With both our lives about to change / Man, you brought your baby / I brought a ring, and I’m giving her my name / And you’re giving her away”

Fun Facts: The song is written from the perspective of the groom addressing the bride’s father. Despite being a “promotional single”, it debuted at #26 on the US Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.

Las Vegas-based Matthew Campbell is the author of The Wedding MusicLetter.
