Serato has expanded creative control with deeper stems functionality and native SLAB hardware integration.
Serato has unveiled a noteworthy update to Serato Sample with the release of version 2.2.0, introducing expanded sound-shaping tools and tighter hardware-software integration. The update builds on Sample’s powerful Stems technology, giving producers greater control over individual elements within a sample while streamlining creative workflows inside any DAW.
Arriving alongside the launch of SLAB – Serato’s first-ever pad controller developed with AlphaTheta – Sample 2.2.0 delivers native hardware control for hands-on beat making. SLAB is designed specifically for Serato Studio but also offers full compatibility with Serato Sample, including a flexible MIDI mode for custom mapping across supported DAWs. Together, the update and new controller create a more expressive, performance-driven production experience.
Key new features in Serato Sample 2.2.0 include:
- Native control for AlphaTheta SLAB with dedicated encoders and MIDI mode support
- Stem levels for independent control of vocals, melodies, basslines, and drums
- Full automation of stem on/off and stem levels within host DAWs
- Mouse wheel support for faster, more intuitive parameter adjustments
Serato Sample 2.2.0 is available now, with SLAB currently shipping through authorized retailers worldwide. Producers can learn more and download the latest version at serato.com/sample.
