Enjoy the April 2025 edition of “Behind the Wedding Music,” a resource to help build wedding playlists for DJs.

Each month we will highlight new songs and include a line of song lyrics, a description of the song’s emotional profile, and a few fun facts — designed to help you advise a wedding couple if they’re looking for something fresh in their playlist.

New wedding song ideas from March 2025:

    twilight zone

    Ariana Grande

    March 28, 2025

A slower dance song but could become a new favorite for Grande fans.

Notable Lyrics: “It’s not like I’d ever change a thing / ‘Cause I’m right here where I’m meant to be / Not that I’d call you, I won’t”

Fun Facts: The song was released on Grande’s seventh studio album titled “Eternal Sunshine” but the Deluxe version. The album references her past marriage with ex Dalton Gomex and how she is moving on. Surprisingly, she has no plans to tour in 2025. But, she may still be celebrating her Wicked stardom.

    Ordinary (Wedding Version)

    Alex Warren

    March 18, 2025

A love theme you can play for walking down the aisle or a first dance.

Notable Lyrics: “The angels up in the clouds are jealous knowin’ we found / Somethin’ so out of the ordinary / You got me kissin’ the ground of your sanctuary”

Fun Facts: The song expresses the emotions of loving someone who brings extraordinary joy to life. Warren is one of the founders of the Hype House – a collaborative TikTok group that lived and created content together in the hills of Los Angeles, capturing the attention of millions of teenagers throughout the pandemic.

    The Giver

    March 14, 2025

A new party dance song that mixes country and pop genres.

Notable Lyrics: “The song topped at #1 on Billboard’s streaming, airplay, and sales Hot Country Songs charts dated March 29. It also peaked at #5 on the Billboard Hot 100. She will be touring Europe this summer at festivals.

Fun Facts: The song made it’s mark upon release hitting #1 on Billboard’s streaming, airplay and sales-based Hot Country Songs chart dated March 29. It also peaked at #5 on the Billboard Hot 100.

    Angels

Armin van Buuren, Punctual feat. EVALINA

    March 14, 2025

An EDM festival vibe to hype up the dance floor.

Notable Lyrics: “Had to let go / Of all I know / ‘Cause the way you glow / Is celestial”

Fun Facts: Armin van Buuren & Punctual first collaborated on the 2023 track “On & On” that peaked at #11 on the Billboard Dance chart. Armin will be travelling the world at select dates including Las Vegas for EDC and a stop at Omnia both in May.

    Angels For Each Other

    Martin Garrix, Arijit Singh

    March 13, 2025

An EDM track that expresses love in a relationship.

Notable Lyrics: “We don’t have to look so far / In the shadows of dawn / We’vе been here all along / Angels for еach other”

    Beautiful People

    David Guetta & Sia

    March 7, 2025

I love this track for an upbeat dance set during the reception.

Notable Lyrics: “Live like we’re gonna die / Do things we’ve never done before / This is the high life”

Fun Facts: This is not Guetta and Sia’s first collaboration as they previously worked on nine singles including “Titanium”, “Flames”, “Bang My Head”and “She Wolf”. The song was first leaked way back in 2013 but not fully produced and finished until now.

    In Love Today

If you want a dance vibe for your cocktail hour, this fits perfectly and has the love message.

A mid-tempo upbeat track for cocktail hours that blend Pop, Hip Hop and R&B.

    Kenny Rogers & VAVO

    March 6, 2025

A dance remix that will have everyone singing along on the dance floor.

Notable Lyrics: “You got to know when to hold ’em, know when to fold ’em / Know when to walk away and know when to run”

Fun Facts: The song was released by Kenny Rogers’ estate as an honor of the five-year anniversary of his passing. The song promotes the “YEEDM” genre which is a blend and remixes of Country and EDM. “The Gambler” was first released in 1978 and hit #1.

    Anxiety

    Doechii

    March 4, 2025

A slower dance song that you can play as part of pop and hip hop crossover.

Notable Lyrics: “Anxiety, keep on trying me / I feel it quietly, tryna silence me, yeah / My anxiety, can’t shake it off of me / Somebody’s watchin’ me and my anxiety”

Fun Facts: The song samples the 2011 #1 Billboard chart hit Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used to Know”.
