This week’s DJ LIFE Mobile Monday DJ spotlight, presented by QSC, shines on DJ Hope Flows from Indianapolis, IN.

DJ Hope Flows is this week’s DJ LIFE Mobile Monday spotlight. Presented by QSC, Hope Hodgson a/k/a DJ Hope Flows is a mobile DJ, based out of Indianapolis, Indiana, but travels worldwide for events.

Upon our sit-down with Hope Hodgson, known as DJ Hope Flows, we dive deeper into her journey into the mobile DJ world. At the age of 19, Hope started her journey as an international model, which she describes as “a journey that became more than just runways and photographs—it became a gateway to sound.” Transitioning from model to DJ came as experiences ignited her passion for curating soundscapes that bring people together, further strengthening her love for music.

Since then, DJ Hope Flows has gone on to showcase her skills as a DJ to provide the official soundtracks for 2012 WMBA champions, Indiana Fever, the Indiana Pacers, Indianapolis Colts, and more. Being a mobile DJ is more than just that, when asked about important lessons learned or gained thus far in her career, according to Hodgson: “The greatest lesson DJing has taught me is that time is fluid, and moments are fleeting, but music has the ability to flow through memories for years to come.”

When DJ LIFE spoke with Hope Hodgson a/k/a DJ Hope Flows regarding all things mobile DJ, here’s how it went down…

DJ LIFE: How did you get started as a DJ?

DJ Hope Flows: At 19, I stepped into the world of international modeling, a journey that became more than just runways and photographs—it became a gateway to sound. From church handbell choir and flute ensembles to now traveling across continents, I was immersed in music that transcended language, filling rooms with rhythm, emotion, and connection. One of the most defining moments came during volunteer trips to Haiti, where music was more than just a backdrop; it was a bridge. In the absence of shared words, beats spoke, melodies embraced, and movement became a universal dialogue of love, energy, and hope. That experience ignited my passion for curating soundscapes that bring people together, and from there, my journey and love for music began.

DJ LIFE: What does being a mobile DJ mean to you?

DJ Hope Flows: To me, being a mobile DJ is about bringing the world to people, one beat at a time. It’s the ability to transform any space—a ballroom, a backyard, a street corner, a stadium—into a living, breathing experience of music and movement. It’s the art of adaptation, reading a room, and knowing when to slow the pulse or electrify the air. But more than anything, it’s about connection. No matter where I set up, I create a space where barriers fade, emotions rise, and memories are made.

DJ LIFE: How has being a DJ impacted your personal/family life?

DJ Hope Flows: Being a DJ is more than a profession; it’s a rhythm that seeps into every part of life. Music doesn’t stay confined to the decks—it finds its way into conversations, road trips, and late-night reflections. It’s given me a deeper appreciation for the power of sound in shaping moods, healing wounds, and celebrating milestones. While the high energy and constant motion can be demanding and made me miss some of my own milestones, the joy of sharing this passion with those I love far outweighs any sacrifice. My world has become a symphony, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

DJ LIFE: What is the most important life lesson you have gained from your experience as a DJ?

DJ Hope Flows: The greatest lesson DJing has taught me is that time is fluid, and moments are fleeting, but music has the ability to flow through memories for years to come. A perfectly timed song can turn a passing second into a memory that lasts a lifetime. It’s a reminder to be present, to feel deeply, and to never underestimate the magic of music/movement. Every set, every transition, every beat drop is a chance to leave a mark—not just on a dance floor, but in a heart.

DJ LIFE: What does your current DJ setup consist of?

DJ Hope Flows: My current DJ set up is 2 K Column speakers and a RANE board. From the big stadium gigs to the non-profit galas, and smaller corporate events I DJ, these speakers make every gig look, feel and sound like a high class act! For my stadium gigs the K Column speakers are unmatched and carry the sound further and more crisp than I have ever experienced.
