Meet Fankee: The World’s First Community-Driven Music Label

“Social media now defines what becomes a hit, and who rules social media? The community,” says CEO & founder, Giacomo Pellegrini.

Fankee, the first-ever community-driven music label, has officially launched, offering a new way for fans to support their favorite artists. Founded by Giacomo Pellegrini and Dario Pozzi, Fankee allows fans to become co-owners and earn a share of music royalties, transforming them into active stakeholders in artists’ success.

Since its soft launch in May 2024, Fankee has shown promising results. Its first contest saw 15 emerging artists achieve 350,000 streams and 30 million social interactions, while a second contest generated 500,000 streams in just three weeks. By merging technology and community support, Fankee aims to reshape music promotion and create a shared success model between artists and fans.

“Social media now defines what becomes a hit, and who rules social media? The community,” said Pellegrini, CEO and founder of Fankee. “We’re empowering fans to not only promote the tracks they love but to own a part of them, turning their passion into an asset.”

Fankee’s innovative model addresses a critical gap in the music industry. While major labels often operate like private equity funds, focusing on accelerating already established acts, Fankee acts as an accelerator for emerging talent. “We’re like a Y Combinator for music—empowering artists before they hit mainstream traction, allowing fans to invest in that success,” Pellegrini added.

The platform’s core offering is its music contest, where artists and music lovers can experience Fankee’s full value proposition. This “sandbox” environment is where potential hits are born, with everyone playing a part in their creation and promotion. Co-founder Dario Pozzi, a prominent EDM music producer from the ’90s and early 2000s, brings valuable industry experience to the team. Together with Pellegrini, they’ve built a platform that not only benefits artists but also empowers fans to turn their musical passion into a tangible asset. “It’s not just about listening, it’s about turning your passion into something valuable,” said Dario. “In Fankee, every fan has the power to transform a song into a hit they can own.”

With aims to reshape the music industry by empowering artists and fans to shape the future of music together, Fankee sets out to prioritize passion and inclusivity. Already  breaking down barriers to ensure every song has the potential to make its mark on music history, find more information and participate in upcoming contests at fankee.co/music-lovers.
