10 Brand-New Songs for Your November Wedding Playlist

Enjoy the November 2024 edition of “Behind the Wedding Music,” a resource to help build wedding playlists for DJs.

Each month we will highlight new songs and include a line of song lyrics, a description of the song’s emotional profile, and a few fun facts — designed to help you advise a wedding couple if they’re looking for something fresh in their playlist.

New wedding song ideas from October 2024:

    Still Into You

    Cyril, maryjo

    October 25, 2024

This song could be plated as a dance song or as a vibe-setting cocktail hour song because of its recognition of the original.

Notable Lyrics: “Let ’em wonder how we got this far / ‘Cause I don’t really need to wonder at all / Yeah, after all this time / I’m still into you”

Fun Facts: The song is a dance cover of Paramore’s “Still Into You” released in 2013. At the 2024 ARIA Awards, Cyril has been nominated for Best Dance / Electronic Release and Song of the Year for “Stumblin’ In”.

    Give Me Away

    Riley Roth

    October 18, 2024

A song written specifically for a father walking his daughter down the aisle.

Notable Lyrics: “My heart is racing / I see him waiting / He’s gonna change my whole world / But in this moment / I hope you know that / I’m still your little girl”

Fun Facts: Riley Roth has released several other wedding-themed songs including “When God Made You My Mother” for a Mother and Bride song, and “When God Made You My Father” for a Father and Daughter dance song.

    APT.

    ROSÉ & Bruno Mars

    October 18, 2024

A fun party song that will remind you of “Mickey” by Toni Basil.

Notable Lyrics: “Don’t you want me like I want you, baby? / Don’t you need me like I need you now? / Sleep tomorrow, but tonight, go crazy”

Fun Facts: ROSÉ joined the South Korean girl group Blackpink in August 2016 and released her first solo single in 2021. As of November 4th, “APT.” stayed at No. 1 on Billboard Global Charts for the second week in a row. It has amassed 16 million views on YouTube and 238 million plays on Spotify.

    Forever Young

David Guetta, Alphaville & Ava Max

    October 18, 2024

A dance cover of a song that saw a recent resurgence and makes a great sing-along song too.

Notable Lyrics: “Dance one more time / Give me the feelin’ again / Just one more time / Won’t you give me the feelin’ that I’m forever young?”

Fun Facts: Forever Young” by Alphaville saw a renewal when it was featured in the 2024 film “Deadpool & Wolverine”. Ava Max has teamed up with other DJs including Kygo on their hit “Whatever” earlier in 2024. Of note, the song formed the basis of Jay-Z’s song “Young Forever”.

    OMG (Remix)

    Candelita, Pitbull & Silvestre Dangond

    October 18, 2024

A fun party song that Mr. Worldwide is known for and this will have the fun Latin party vibes flowing.

Notable Lyrics: “Oh my God / Throw everything bad away / oh my God / Give me health and prosperity”

Fun Facts: Candelita is the stage name for New York Mets baseball player Jose Iglesias. When he played his first game with New York on May 31, 2024 “OMG” was his walk-up song. Iglesias quickly emerged as an inspiration for the Mets, earning more playing time, and his song became a rallying cry for the team.

    Never Letting Go

    Alok, Gryffin & Julia Church

    October 11, 2024

If you want an uptempo EDM closing song to end a reception, the theme and beat are perfect to sign off.

Notable Lyrics: “Out the dark, from the edge / No, I’m never letting go again / Cross my heart ’til the end / No, I’m never letting go again”

Fun Facts: Brazilian DJ ALOK collaborates with Japanese-American DJ Gryffin. If I am comparing popularity, ALOK has 24 million monthly listeners and Gryffin has 7 million monthly listeners on Spotify. Both artists have limited dates during the early winter months but expect them at festivals in 2025.

    My World

    Calum Scott

    October 4, 2024

The song starts out slowly but I see this as a dramatic processional or a grand entrance at its peak moment in the song.

Notable Lyrics: “To the end of the universe, I wouldn’t hesitate / Just to make you see that   you’ve got all of me / And you’re my world”

Fun Facts: Even with the popularity of Scott’s wedding song “You Are The Reason”, his most listened-to song on Spotify is “Where Are You Now” with Lost Frequencies. He is off for the rest of the year but begins 2025 with a bang with tour dates in Australia.

    ALL MY LOVE

    Coldplay

    October 4, 2024

A slow piano romantic song for a first dance or any other special moment during a wedding day.

Notable Lyrics: “You got all my love / Whether it rains or pours, I’m all yours / You’ve got all my love / Whether it rains, it remains”

Fun Facts: The song is featured on the band’s 10th studio album titled “Moon Music”. Chris Martin, the lead singer, announced it would be the last song the band releases. The music video follows Martin as he walks around Las Vegas and hands out balloons.

    Born To Love Ya

Gabry Ponte, Natti Natasha, and Sean Paul

    October 4, 2024

This is an energetic dancehall party song typical of the classic Sean Paul dance hits.

Notable Lyrics: “I won’t tell no lie / Born to love ya / The rest of my life / Born to love ya”

Fun Facts: Gabry Ponte is an Italian musician, DJ, and producer, also known for his membership in the Italian dance band Eiffel 65. “Born To Love Ya” already has 4 million plays on Spotify. Ponte has more than 17 million monthly listeners on Spotify.

    Moonlit Floor

    LISA

    October 3, 2024

A mid-tempo pop song to play to set the vibes for fun during a cocktail hour.

Notable Lyrics: “Kiss me under the Paris twilight / Kiss me out on the moonlit floor”

Fun Facts: The song samples Sixpence None the Richer’s “Kiss Me”. LISA is a member of the South Korean girl group Blackpink. Although, LISA was born in Thailand. She is multilingual; along with her native Thai, she speaks fluent Korean and English, as well as basic Japanese and Chinese.
