    AlphaTheta DDJ-GRV6: Next-Generation DJ Controller

The 4-channel DJ controller, compatible with rekordbox and Serato DJ Pro, offers groove circuit, allows DJs to freely manipulate drum parts.

AlphaTheta Corporation, the world’s leading manufacturer of DJ equipment, has just announced (Tuesday, Oct. 8) the release of the AlphaTheta DDJ-GRV6, a 4-channel DJ controller compatible with rekordbox and Serato DJ Pro.

DJs can effortlessly remix drum sections and perform live remixes with the DDJ-GRV6, thanks to its innovative Groove Circuit feature in rekordbox. This feature allows DJs to manipulate tracks in ways not possible with standard DJ controllers. By pressing one of the dedicated buttons, DJs can swap out the drum part of any song with beats or breaks from entirely different genres, adding effects for unique sound creations. When paired with Serato DJ Pro, the DDJ-GRV6 can also manipulate and separate Stems using the Stems FX feature.

The DDJ-GRV6’s layout mirrors Pioneer DJ’s CDJ and DJM setups, offering a familiar experience that prepares users for club-standard equipment. Additionally, the Smart Rotary Selector and Discover function streamline the process of browsing and selecting tracks, making it faster and more intuitive. The DDJ-GRV6 is compatible with PC/Mac and mobile devices, allowing DJs to start mixing right away on their preferred platform.

Groove Circuit: freely manipulate drum parts and create new remixes

With the Groove Circuit function, DJs can easily create remixes by simply pressing the dedicated buttons. This enables DJs to replace the drum parts of a track, even while it’s playing, with different drum loops, changing them into different genres, and performing unique remixes effortlessly. Also, by applying effects to the drum parts, DJs can easily create fills, build-ups, and breakdowns. By freely manipulating the drum parts,DJs can perform innovative and creative live remixes.

*The Groove Circuit function is only available on rekordbox for Mac/Windows.
*For rekordbox for iOS/Android, the function is linked to the sampler and others.
*For Serato DJ Pro, the function is linked to Stems FX (read on for more info).

    Groove Circuit features:

    • Drum Swap: Replace the drum parts of the track loaded on the deck, even when it’s playing, with different drum loops at the push of a button. A pack of 40 loops in a variety of genres is available as a free download to help DJs get started after unboxing.
    • Drum Roll/Trans: Easily create impromptu drum rolls, add fills to transitions, and build up tracks by applying the Roll or Trans effect to drum parts.
    • Drum Release: Apply Release FX to drum parts to easily create breakdowns.
    • Capture: Extract only the drum parts of the track loaded on the deck to capture and drop them into another track later.

Layout based on the latest club-standard DJ gear

The DDJ-GRV6 features large jog wheels that are ideal for scratching, 8 Performance Pads which are positioned above the jogs – just as they are on the flagship CDJ-3000 multi player and Beat FX from the DJM-A9 in the mixer section. The layout provides a feeling similar to using club-standard equipment, enabling DJs to perform dynamically by combining expressive scratching with pad and effect techniques perfect for club sets.

Smart Rotary Selector and Discover function revolutionize track selection

The new Smart Rotary Selector on the DDJ-GRV6 allows for up/down and left/right tilting as well as conventional rotation and push operations when using rekordbox for Mac/Windows version 7. The left/right tilt enables intuitive navigation through the media browser, tree view, and track list, while the up/down tilt allows fast navigation through playlists and collections to quickly find tracks, no matter the size of the music library. Quickly access the Track Suggestion feature by pressing the Discover button to rediscover old favorites or encounter new songs.

*The Discover function is only available in rekordbox for Mac/Windows.

Remix Performances with Stems FX in Serato DJ Pro

The DDJ-GRV6 is compatible with Serato DJ Pro, which includes a Stems FX feature. DJs can express themselves by applying effects such as Roll, Trans, Echo Out, and Delay to the separate Stems of a track – drums, bass, vocal or melody. Apply the overlay sheet included with the DDJ-GRV6 to change the button labels to Stems FX for ease of use.

Multi-device compatibility: DJ with your PC/Mac, mobile devices, and more

The DDJ-GRV6 is compatible with rekordbox for Mac/Windows and iOS/Android. With the option of playing via mobile devices, DJs can play in their preferred style and in a variety of settings.

*The DDJ-GRV6 does not support Bluetooth® connections.
*Only channels 1 and 2 are available for playback in rekordbox for iOS/Android.

Intuitive user experience and sophisticated design

With numerous advanced features, the matte black finish and ergonomic design allow DJs to easily navigate the DDJ-GRV6. Despite the variety of functions, the minimalistic display and indicators offer intuitive access to the functions DJs need. And the Groove Circuit, one of the unit’s key features, is cleanly laid out above the Performance Pads with a “step up” in between, ensuring DJs won’t accidentally touch a jog wheel when they’re using it. This sleek design allows DJs to get creative in performances that can be as simple or intricate as you like.

    Other features

    • Supports Stems mode and Stem Iso (rekordbox for Mac/Windows, Serato DJ Pro)
    • Equipped with a USB Type-C port
    • USB bus-powered operation (additional power supply needed when using smartphones)
