Their first track since 2021 was first premiered during their packed and much-talked-about Coachella set at the debut of the Quasar Stage.

The GRAMMY® Award-winning alternative dance trio RÜFÜS DU SOL returns with their highly-anticipated new single “Music is Better,” released today, Friday, June 21.

“Music is Better” is the group’s first original release since their 2021 GRAMMY®-nominated album, Surrender. The song captures the themes of hope, intimacy, and connection that have always defined RÜFÜS DU SOL, while showcasing and exploring a more vast direction. This new track finds the guys in a sweet spot, creating from the present moment, while blending organic and electronic elements seamlessly.

The track was first premiered during their packed and much-talked-about Coachella set at the debut of the Quasar Stage, marking a significant return for the group. The official release of “Music is Better” comes just ahead of their headline DJ set at the Portola Festival, building anticipation among fans and music enthusiasts alike.

Since the release of Surrender three years ago, RÜFÜS DU SOL has achieved remarkable success. They won a GRAMMY®, received two additional nominations the following year, and earned their fifth ARIA in Australia. The band has toured the globe, appearing at festivals across Europe and South America. They brought the Surrender experience to iconic North American venues such as New York’s Forest Hills Stadium, Denver’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre, and Los Angeles’ Hollywood Bowl.

In addition to their touring success, the band launched their boutique Sundream Festival, which recently held its second edition in San José del Cabo, further solidifying their influence and presence in the scene.

With “Music is Better,” RÜFÜS DU SOL continues to push the boundaries of their sound, showcasing their signature captivating and emotionally resonant sound. The trio’s ability to blend electronic and organic elements while maintaining their signature themes of hope and connection makes this release yet another a significant milestone in their career – and stellar addition to their discography.
