Subtronics Joins Rezz for “Black Ice” (ft. Phantogram)

The original track appeared on his album ‘Tesseract,’ and he resurrects a new version for re-release featuring new vocals by Phantogram.

Fans of Subtronics, prepare to embark on another sonic journey as the electronic music sensation teams up with REZZ for their latest collaboration, “Black Ice (feat. Phantogram),” set to drop today, April 19, on Cyclops Recordings.

Building on the success of the original album version of “Black Ice,” Subtronics and REZZ enlist the talents of Phantogram, the masterminds behind “Black Out Days,” to infuse the track with haunting vocals which add an extra layer of depth and intensity. Premiering live for the first time at the Beyond Wonderland music festival in Southern California, “Black Ice” made an unforgettable impression on the crowd of 30,000 eager fans.

Inspired by the concept of the “tesseract,” a geometric marvel representing a 16-cell cube in fourth-dimensional geometry, Subtronics delves into his passion for quantum physics and high-dimensional theory, pushing the boundaries of sound design and genre fluidity. This innovative approach is not only evident in the album’s audio-visual experience but also in Subtronics’ captivating stage design, complemented by stunning visual elements that captivate audiences throughout the TESSERACT tour.

Subtronics’ meteoric rise in the electronic music scene is further underscored by his inclusion as the only electronic music act to crack Pollstar’s Top 100 North American Tours chart, claiming the impressive No. 75 spot. The recently concluded 2024 TESSERACT Tour saw Subtronics electrify major American venues like the Barclay’s Center, State Farm Arena, and the MGM Music Hall at Fenway, solidifying his status as a must-see live act.

And the excitement doesn’t stop there. Subtronics is gearing up to take over the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre with CYCLOPS ROCKS IV, where he’ll be joined by an all-star lineup including Delta Heavy, Level Up, Samplifire, and more. With major appearances lined up at festivals like EDC Las Vegas, Hangout Fest, and HARD SUMMER, Subtronics shows no signs of slowing down.
