10 Brand-New Songs for Your April Wedding Playlist

Enjoy the April 2024 edition of “Behind the Wedding Music,” a resource to help build wedding playlists for DJs.

Each month we will highlight new songs and include a line of song lyrics, a description of the song’s emotional profile, and a few fun facts — designed to help you advise a wedding couple if they’re looking for something fresh in their playlist.

A few newly released wedding songs from March 2024:

    II MOST WANTED

    Beyoncé, Miley Cyrus

    March 29, 2024

This song is for brides and bridesmaids with a “Thelma & Loise” theme.

Notable Lyrics: “I’ll be your shotgun rider / ‘Til the day I die / Smoke out the window flyin’ / Down the 405”

Fun Facts: This is the first the megastars have collaborated on a song. Hannah Montana (Cyrus) had an episode where she dreamt of preparing to get a Grammy Award for Record of the Year and not believing that she was in the same league as Beyoncé. “II Most Wanted” shares a similar chord progression with Fleetwood Mac’s 1975 track ““Landslide”.

    Country Gold

    Anne Wilson, Jordan Davis

    March 22, 2024

A song sharing a theme to enjoy life’s little moments and time with the ones you love.

Notable Lyrics: “To most, it might not look like much / But I put roots down here because / The richest people that I’ve ever known / Struck country gold”

Fun Facts: The song will be featured on Wilson’s album ‘REBEL’ releasing April 19th. She is currently touring including stops at fairs, festivals, and Christian events. She’s on Spotify’s “2024 Hot Country Artists to Watch” list.

    Ain’t No Mountain High Enough

    Cascada

    March 15, 2024

A dance remake of a classic wedding song to play as a party starter.

Notable Lyrics: “Ain’t no valley low enough / Ain’t no river wide enough / To keep me from gettin’ to you, babe”

Fun Facts: The song will be featured on Cascada’s upcoming album titled ‘Studio 24’ expected in October 2024. She has not released any studio albums since 2013. Cascada is currently on tour with dates in Europe and a single stop in the U.S.

    Paradise

    Justin Timberlake feat. *NSYNC

    March 15, 2024

A slow dance love song to highlight a romantic wedding moment.

Notable Lyrics: “Right here for this moment / Between you and I / Everything is happenin’ / And it’s just what I imagined”

Fun Facts: The song is featured on Timberlake’s new album “Everything I Thought It Was”. He will be busy touring in 2024 on his Forget Tomorrow World Tour. *NSYNC performed at a Timberlake concert together in March for the first time live since the 2013 VMAs.

    Been Like This

    Meghan Trainor, T-Pain

    March 14, 2024

A fun dance pop track from two music superstars.

Notable Lyrics: “We gon’ ride first class to heaven / Your hands all over this legend / Don’t stress, baby, that’s just the way that I move”

Fun Facts: The song will be featured on her upcoming ‘Timeless’ album to be released June 7th. Her Timeless Tour will take place in September and October in North America. It is her first tour in seven years.

    Exceso

    Sebastian Esquivel, Blessd, Eugenio Esquivel

    March 11, 2024

This is a great party song as it describes living a lifestyle of partying and having a good time.

Notable Lyrics: English translation “It goes down wherever if they see me with you / I love excess”

Fun Facts: Sebastian Esquivel and Eugenio Esquivel are producing a style of music called electro-corrido. This is their second release in this style following the success of ‘Alucin’. The duo is also known as Los Esquivel.

    Doctor (Work It Out)

    Pharrell Williams, Miley Cyrus

    March 1, 2024

A funky pop tune for mixing in during dancing or a fun mood setter.

Notable Lyrics: “Let’s let bygones be bygones and throw it all away / You’re my lover / I wanna hear you say”

Fun Facts: In January, Williams showcased his third fashion collection with Louis Vuitton for the Fall/Winter 2024 season – where he first publicly shared the song. His fashion line features an American Western theme.

    Lighter

Galantis, David Guetta & 5 Seconds Of Summer

    March 1, 2024

A dance-pop gem to increase the hype on the dance floor or as an introduction track.

Notable Lyrics: “As long as you’re close, I thought you should know / I feel a little bit lighter / When I’m with you”

Fun Facts: The song will be featured on Galantis’ upcoming fourth studio album. Galantis has selected tour dates in May and June but will perform at Lollapalooza in Chicago in August. You may be surprised the 5SOS is on the track because they are more well-known for their pop-punk style.

    Darling

    Shimza, Aloe Blacc

    March 1, 2024

    A mid-temp mood-setting track meant for a background song.

Notable Lyrics: “So darlin’, darlin’, stand by me / Oh, stand by me / Oh, stand now”

Fun Facts: The song samples Ben E. King’s classic hit “Stand By Me”. Shimza’s One Man Show charity sponsors school uniforms and stationery for school kids from his hometown of Tembisa, South Africa while driving job creation.

    Stupid In Love [Stripped Version]

    MAX, HUH YUNJIN

    March 1, 2024

The stripped version is a nice compliment for any wedding ceremony or dinner song celebrating being in love.

Notable Lyrics: “Let’s get matching tattoos / I don’t wanna think it through / Baby, I’m so stupid in love”

Fun Facts: HUH YUNJIN is a member of Le Sserafim, a K-pop girl group. The group has two albums in the top 10 on the Billboard 200 album chart. The only tour dates for MAX in 2024 are a couple of dates in the Philippines in April.
