CAMELPHAT Unveils Anticipated New Album, ‘Spiritual Milk’

The highly anticipated new LP from CAMELPHAT sees its official release on Sept. 15 through their very own When Stars Align label.

It’s about that time — time for some Spiritual Milk from CAMELPHAT, that is. The anticipated new album from the multi-platinum, GRAMMY-nominated DJ and production duo CAMELPHAT, Spiritual Milk, is available today (Sept. 15). Seeing its official release through their very own label, When Stars Align, the LP follows their tremendous 2020 album Dark Matter.

The 16-track Spiritual Milk includes features and collaborations with the likes of London Grammar, Anyma, Mathame, Shimza, Kolsch, Sohn, Rhodes, Jake Bugg, and many others. Spiritual Milk begins with the progressive and euphoric “Hope” with Max Milner, setting the tone for the listening journey. As CAMELPHAT continues to set the tone on the LPs early tracks, the vibe remains consistent, progressing into melodic and elated vocal tunes.

Spiritual Milk continues with the swirling menace of “The Sign” alongside Anyma, the uplifting “Embers” with Shimza and Julia Church, and the pulsing “Compute” featuring Ali Love which samples Kraftwerk’s iconic “Computer Love.” Some of the album’s stand-out tracks include the echoing “Colossus” with Kölsch, the hypnotic collaboration “Many Times” with Mathame and Frýnn, the elevating “Higher” with the distinctly extraordinary London Grammar, and the guitar-infused album closer “Love Is Something” featuring Jake Bugg. Not only do these creations showcase their insatiable synergy with all genres; it further solidifies their evolution as artists as the duo dives deeper into their signature ground-breaking sound and amplifies it on Spiritual Milk.

“We’ve felt a lot less pressure delivering this record possibly due to the fact it’s on our label (WSA), but also we’re at a point in our career where we can possibly afford to be more expressive and less fearful about what other people think. It has definitely come from the heart and feels honest both as writers and musicians. We’ve had fun with it; we’ve made music less with the dance floor in mind and more with our emotions. The whole thing came together surprisingly very easily.  “Spiritual Milk” is a listening album that takes your mind away from everyday life. The name itself has captured the overall essence of the album perfectly.  Take the trip & enjoy the ride.” – CAMELPHAT

For the album artwork, CAMELPHAT wanted to explore the idea of ‘electronic trip’ and ‘modern psychedelic’ art and came across some of Niko Christian’s (aka c-nik) surreal designs. Niko is a multidisciplinary artist based in the US, working to create peace from chaos in surreal arcs of light, life, and time and developing the idea that you can touch heaven from anywhere.

CAMELPHAT will also host a specially curated night at the brand-new North London venue, Drumsheds, on Saturday, November 25, one of the first shows announced for the venue. More info can be found here. On Saturday, October 21, the will duo host a night at The Warehouse Project. Guests announced so far include Ben Böhmer (live), Fideles, Rebūke, Layla Benitez, Kas:st, Miss Monique, Azzecca, and James Organ. Tickets are on sale now here.
