Getting in the spirit of Friday the 13th, Black Book Records adds to their evergrowing catalogue with “Nightmares,” a hard-hitting collaboration between Chris Lake, who founded Black Book, and Cloonee.
Serving as each artist’s second release of 2022, their joint effort is a haunting piece of production fueled by a chilling childlike voice alongside big brassy tones, a striking futuristic melody and a booming bassline.
Cloonee says, “Working with Chris was an absolute honor and a huge milestone in my career that I will look back on fondly. It took us a few attempts to land on this record, but I’m incredibly happy that we did as the final result is amazing. It was also nice for Chris to see how a real producer works in the studio.”
“I liked working with Cloonee because he has fantastic taste in British chocolate,” adds Chris Lake. “He’s also not a bad producer.”
