This week’s DJ LIFE Mobile Monday DJ spotlight, presented by QSC, shines on DJ Deni-D (Denielle) from Wayne, New Jersey.
DJ Deni-D is this week’s DJ LIFE Mobile Monday spotlight. Presented by QSC, Denielle of Golden Note Entertainment is based out of Wayne, New Jersey. Some DJs discover their calling in nightclubs or through years of obsessing over turntables – but for DJ Deni-D, the path into the industry came through a completely unexpected doorway.
What began as a practical plan to earn extra money while studying Health Science quickly evolved into something much bigger, as her lifelong love of dance and music turned into a real passion for performing. Since joining Golden Note Entertainment, she’s steadily climbed the ranks, growing from behind-the-scenes support into a confident DJ, emcee, and an integral part of the company’s day-to-day operations.
Several years into her journey, DJ Deni-D has developed an identity as a mobile DJ who believes it’s never just about playing songs – it’s about setting the tone for an entire night and helping people celebrate milestones both big and small. Whether it’s a packed dance floor or a room full of atmospheric background vibes, she sees every event as a chance to create moments that people will remember.

When DJ LIFE spoke with Denielle regarding all things mobile DJ, here’s how it went down…
DJ LIFE: How did you get started as a DJ?
DJ Deni-D: I got into DJing in a very nonconventional way. I never knew I had a passion for DJing (or MCing). I was at a career fair at my college looking for hospitals or doctors’ offices to work or intern at (because I was a Health Science major), and my current boss and office manager were there recruiting. I have danced my whole life, and I love every type of music. I have always loved expressing myself through music and dance, so I figured this would be a fun way to earn extra money to pay for school, even if I just stayed at the “tech” level. I started working at Golden Note Entertainment for part-time money, and I certainly did not think that I would be here this long. Three and a half years later, and now I have moved up the ladder—starting as a tech, then spinner, then DJ, and now I’m MCing and DJing. Plus, I work in our office and train our staff as well. I never thought that life would take me in this direction, but I am so glad that it did!
DJ LIFE: Can you tell us about your current DJ setup?
DJ Deni-D: I have a sleek all-black look with a white acrylic facade that I can light up to match any color theme. I use the black Pioneer DDJ-FLX10 controller and the black QSC KC12s. I use two Shure wireless microphones and a 6-channel Mackie mixer. I love the FLX10—being able to manipulate songs using stems and FX really makes mixing and transitioning through the night so much fun and seamless! The QSC KC12s make everything sound so clear no matter what volume I am at, and the pairing of both sounds so perfect for any party that I’m doing.
DJ LIFE: Do you have any favorite or new gear that you’re currently using?
DJ Deni-D: Definitely my QSC KC12 speakers. They’re so lightweight but so powerful! Coming from a 5’2″, 23-year-old girl, they’re so easy to transport to events and they’re super quick to set up. I love the way they look, and the quality is unmatched! They give such a sleek, classy look to my setup, and they match every vibe. After events, I always have one or two people come up to me telling me how clear all the music sounded. They are definitely worth the investment, and I wouldn’t want any other speakers.
DJ LIFE: What does being a mobile DJ mean to you?
DJ Deni-D: To me, this really means creating a soundtrack to people’s most memorable nights. Not only just creating a soundtrack for the memories, but even helping create the memories themselves. Even if it’s just a party for no reason at all, it means the world to me that I get to bring people together with music and allow time for them to relax, have fun, and dance to music. Especially in today’s fast-paced world, I believe that everyone deserves some fun, relaxation, and a mini break from reality for a while. I think music is so healing, powerful, and just overall fun!
Music brings out emotions in people, and getting to share that with a group is super special to me. Whether you’re dancing or just vibing to background music, a DJ sets the tone for every moment of the whole night. It brings me so much joy when I play a song and watch people in the crowd look at each other and sing to each other. Those special little moments will last forever, and I am so lucky to be a part of creating them! I get to bring people together and celebrate something very special. Being a DJ, to me, means helping create stories for people to tell others about one day—whether it be a silly, fun drunken night or one of the best days of your whole life.
DJ LIFE: What are some of the biggest pros and cons of being a mobile DJ?
DJ Deni-D:
Pros: putting a smile on people’s faces, getting to be a representation of females in this male-dominated field, connecting with a wide range of people (clients as well as other DJs), getting paid to party and vibe to music, it is a creative outlet for me, learning from clients due to their different music tastes and cultures, getting to see people have a great time because of something you’re doing, coming up with new creative ideas all the time, and so many more.
Cons: I’d have to say the stress of each and every song choice you make, not many people understanding the lifestyle, long days and late nights, having to move equipment when you are tired, drunk people… lol, disrespectful guests.
