Welcome to the April 2026 edition of Behind the Wedding Music – your go‑to guide for building unforgettable wedding playlists. Each month, we spotlight brand‑new tracks along with notable lyrics, emotional context, and fun facts to help DJs curate the perfect soundtrack for the big day.

New wedding song ideas from March 2026:

    Phoenix

    Marshmello, Portugal. The Man

    March 27, 2026

A fun vibe as guests arrive at the reception with the right message for weddings.

Notable Lyrics: “Something’s in the air, I can feel it / Heaven’s in your eyes, I can see it / Lovers coming back to lifе tonight”

Fun Facts: Portugal. The Man frontman John Gourley grew up in Alaska as the son of professional dog mushers. The song was released via Marshmello’s Joytime Collective and Broke Records. It’s theme centers on the cycle of breaking down and rising back up stronger.

    Dinner Party

    Niall Horan

    March 20, 2026

The relaxed tempo and soulful vocals make it perfect for the cocktail hour or the after-party!

Notable Lyrics: “Crashing lights when you first saw me / Yeah, I met you at a dinner party / Chandeliers, 2 a.m. coffee / Yeah, I met you at a dinner party”

Fun Facts: The song describes the actual night he met his wife – from the conversation to the atmosphere. To promote the song, Niall hosted a series of “Virtual Dinner Parties” on social media, where he answered fan questions.

    Die Living

Illenium, David Guetta & Dustin Lynch

    March 20, 2026

Country meets EDM/Dance music in this upbeat hype song for party time.

Notable Lyrics: “Some hearts running hot, some just killing time / Some just spend their life wishing, but me / Me, I’d rather die living”

Fun Facts: The collaboration creates a blend of future bass, global dance, and country. The song premiered during Illenium’s residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas. Dustin Lynch recently released his own “Club Set” remixes for EDM fans.

    Last Night On Earth

    Cheat Codes & Jonita Gandhi

    March 20, 2026

The theme and the beats of the song make for a great reception send-off.

Notable Lyrics: “You’re the one that I would run to first / If it was the last night on Earth / Come on, baby, tell me those three words / Like tonight’s the last night on Earth”

Fun Facts: The song stands out for its blend of English and Hindi lyrics. The lyrics highlight a universal theme: if the world were ending, who is the one person you’d run to? Jonita Gandhi is known for her massive Bollywood hits.

    Motion Party

    Bossman Dlow

    March 13, 2026

A new Hip Hop party track made for party time.

Notable Lyrics: “I ain’t goin’ on no date, Uber Eats, bae / Get your mind right when you talk to a boss / Playin’ internet games, get your a** knocked off”

Fun Facts: The song features a sample from Khia and represents classic Southern rap. The song’s theme represents people focused on their “bag” (financial success) and progress. It is short, clocking in at just 1 minute and 35 seconds.

    Looking Lovely

    Shaggy feat. Robin Thicke

    March 13, 2026

A smooth mid-tempo Reggae and R&B mix for a dinner groove.

Notable Lyrics: “And I can’t help but say how I’m feeling / Just thought that you should know, listen, baby / I’m loving you, yeah, I’m loving you”

Fun Facts: Critics categorize the song as an “Island-Soul” hybrid. It blends Shaggy’s dancehall energy with Robin Thicke’s falsetto. Surprisingly, all of the original lyrics are “clean” and ready for any wedding.

    New Religion

    Bebe Rexha & Faithless

    March 6, 2026

This track is ready for peak dance sets at 128 BPM.

Notable Lyrics: “It lifts me up, it lifts me up / It’s love with no condition / I found the music, found the music / My new religion”

Fun Facts: The song is the first release from Bebe Rexha’s fourth studio album, ‘Dirty Blonde’. It is a modern rework of the 1995 dance classic “Insomnia” by Faithless. Rexha connected with fans, where she let her audience help vote on the order of song releases of her new album.

    Save Me Tonight

    Jennifer Lopez & David Guetta

    March 6, 2026

A new dance track with a classic feel from the legendary duo.

Notable Lyrics: “Somebody’s waiting for me / Don’t know where, don’t know why, but I know / It’s in the way you hold me”

Fun Facts: “Save Me Tonight” is their first official track together. The song’s debut coincided with the launch of the 2026 residency, “The JLo Show,” at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. Guetta has a busy 2026 tour schedule, including multiple dates at LIV Beach in Las Vegas.

    American Girls

    Harry Styles

    March 6, 2026

    A mid-temp track for a mood-setting background song.

Notable Lyrics: “My friends are in love with American girls / “I’ve known you for ages,” it’s all that I’ve heard / My friends are in love with American girls”

Fun Facts: The track was released on Styles’ fourth studio album, ‘Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally’. “American Girls” debuted at number 1 on the UK Singles Chart. At the same time, the parent album topped the UK Albums Chart. This gave Harry his second “official chart double” (the first being with’ Harry’s House’ and “As It Was” in 2022).

    Iris

Goo Goo Dolls & Steve Aoki

    March 6, 2026

A dance remix of the famous track from the 90s. A great sing-along!

Notable Lyrics: “’Cause I don’t think that they’d understand / When everything’s made to be broken / I just want you to know who I am”

Fun Facts: In 2025, Steve Aoki invited TGGD’s John Rzeznik to join him during his set at the Stagecoach Festival. The crowd’s reaction to the live electronic remix was so overwhelming that the two decided to collaborate in the studio for an official release. The track keeps the original’s 3/4 (waltz) time signature.
