This week’s DJ LIFE Mobile Monday DJ spotlight, presented by QSC, shines on DJ Dyzell (Daniel Darnell Taylor) from West Palm Beach, Florida.
DJ Dyzell is this week’s DJ LIFE Mobile Monday spotlight. Presented by QSC, Daniel Darnell Taylor (DJ Dyzell) is based out of West Palm Beach, Florida. As a mobile DJ, DJ Dyzell takes his talents throughout South Florida (and nationally) for weddings, corporate events, nightlife, and luxury private events.
With more than 15 years behind the decks, Dyzell has carved out a unique lane in the mobile DJ space by fusing his deep-rooted musical background with a sharp focus on upscale event production. As a drummer and producer at his core, his approach to DJing is deeply rhythmic and intentional, translating into performances that emphasize energy, flow, and memorable moments.
That foundation has helped shape his brand, Dyzell Luxury, which focuses on delivering elevated entertainment experiences for weddings, corporate functions, and upscale private events. Rather than treating mobile DJing as simply playing music, Dyzell approaches each event as a full-scale production. His philosophy centers on adaptability and creating immersive environments tailored to each unique crowd and setting.

When DJ LIFE spoke with Dyzell regarding all things mobile DJ, here’s how it went down…
DJ LIFE: How did you get started as a DJ?
DJ Dyzell: I started DJing over 15 years ago because of my passion for music and live performance. I’m also a drummer and music producer, so rhythm and energy have always been a big part of my life. Over time, I built my brand Dyzell Luxury, focusing on delivering high-quality entertainment for weddings, corporate events, and upscale celebrations. My goal has always been to combine professionalism, great music selection, and production to create experiences that people remember long after the event is over.
DJ LIFE: What does being a mobile DJ mean to you?
Dyzell: Being a mobile DJ means versatility and the ability to create unforgettable experiences anywhere. Unlike club DJs who work in one location, mobile DJs have to adapt to different environments, audiences, and energy levels. For me, it’s about bringing a full entertainment experience wherever the event is—whether that’s a luxury wedding, corporate event, or private celebration—and making every crowd feel like they’re part of something special.
DJ LIFE: Can you tell us about your current DJ setup?
Dyzell: My current mobile setup is designed for power, clarity, and flexibility depending on the event size. I run a four-top and four-sub system using QSC gear, specifically 4 × QSC K12.2 speakers paired with 4 × QSC K118 subwoofers. This combination gives me incredible headroom and clean, professional sound whether I’m performing at a luxury wedding, corporate event, or large private celebration. The K12.2s deliver excellent clarity across vocals and music, while the K118 subs provide deep, powerful low end that really fills the room and keeps the dance floor moving. As a mobile DJ, portability and reliability are important, and QSC has been rock solid for me. The system is powerful enough to cover large rooms or outdoor events while still being efficient for setup and breakdown. I also incorporate wireless microphones, intelligent lighting, and visual production elements to create a full entertainment experience.
DJ LIFE: What would your perfect or dream setup look like?
Dyzell: My dream setup would center around a white QSC KC12 system as the core of the rig. The KC12 has a sleek design and incredible sound, so having that system in white would fit perfectly with the upscale weddings and luxury events that I specialize in. I’d expand the system by adding QSC K12.2 speakers as satellite fills to cover larger rooms and outdoor spaces, along with additional QSC K118 subwoofers for deeper low-end reinforcement. That combination would create a modular sound system that can scale from intimate luxury events to large productions while maintaining crystal-clear sound and powerful bass. Beyond audio, the dream setup would include intelligent lighting, LED dance floors, cold sparks, and custom visuals so every event feels like a full production rather than just a DJ setup.
DJ LIFE: Do you have any favorite or new gear that you’re currently using?
Dyzell: Right now, some of my favorite gear in my setup is my QSC K12.2 tops and K118 subs. The sound clarity, reliability, and power they provide are exactly what I need as a mobile DJ working high-end events. I also enjoy integrating production elements like lighting, special effects, and custom visuals because those details elevate the experience for clients and guests.
DJ LIFE: What are some of the biggest pros and cons of being a mobile DJ?
Dyzell: One of the biggest advantages of being a mobile DJ is the variety. Every event is different, and you get to create unique experiences for different types of crowds. One night I may be DJing a luxury wedding, the next a corporate event, and another a private celebration. That diversity keeps things exciting and forces you to stay creative. One challenge is that mobile DJs are responsible for everything—sound, setup, logistics, timing, and sometimes even helping manage the flow of the event. But when everything comes together and the crowd is having an amazing time, it makes all the work worth it.
