This week’s DJ LIFE Mobile Monday DJ spotlight, presented by QSC, shines on DJ STAZ of Our DJ Rocks from Orlando, Florida.

DJ STAZ is this week’s DJ LIFE Mobile Monday spotlight. Presented by QSC, DJ STAZ of Our DJ Rocks is a mobile DJ based out of Orlando, Florida. For DJ STAZ, being a mobile DJ is all about more than music – it’s about creating memories that last a lifetime. With nearly seven years in the industry, she has developed her craft through a true love of music, a background in piano and guitar, and hands-on experience gained while interning with the Our DJ Rocks team during her time at UCF’s Rosen College of Hospitality. Today, her passion shines through at every event, where she blends technical expertise with an energy that keeps the dance floor alive.

DJ STAZ credits her success to a combination of dedication, trusted gear, and an unwavering belief that every event is about the client and their vision. From sleek setups like the KC12 speakers to an open-format approach that adapts to any crowd, her philosophy is simple: bring the best vibes, honor the music, and create unforgettable celebrations.

When DJ LIFE spoke with DJ STAZ regarding all things mobile DJ, here’s how it went down…

DJ LIFE: What does being a mobile DJ mean to you?
DJ STAZ: Being a mobile DJ means bringing the best vibes and sound to people’s life celebrations. It’s getting to witness and create moments that are going to be cherished for years. It’s a constant party!

DJ LIFE: How did you get started as a DJ?
DJ STAZ: As mentioned above, I love music. I’ve played piano since 6 years old, picked up guitar in high school, started producing for my hip-hop artists friends in college. I met the Our DJ Rocks team on campus at my school – Rosen College of Hospitality under UCF. I interned with them and then never left! I fell in love with weddings and celebrating with people. Now it’s been almost 7 years of DJ Life!

DJ LIFE: Can you tell us about your current DJ setup?
DJ STAZ: Everything me and the team use for speakers is made by QSC. Whether it’s an 8-inch cocktail hour speaker for background music, 18-inch subwoofers for larger events, or the brand new and awesome KC12 column speakers – QSC is what we know and trust. We use Shure for all our microphone needs, and we love Livewire by Guitar Center for cables.

DJ LIFE: What would your perfect or dream setup look like?
DJ STAZ: For a private event of about 150 guests, Bunn Booth + KC12 Speakers is all I need for a sleek look and amazing sound.

DJ LIFE: Do you have any favorite or new gear that you’re currently using?
DJ STAZ: Once again have to mention the KC12s:

    • Easy to set up (literally 30 seconds)
    • Light weight especially for the power inside those things!
    • Bluetooth capability if needed
    • White or black, perfect for weddings or corporate events
    • Clean, beautiful sound with nice subs

DJ LIFE: What are some of the biggest pros and cons of being a mobile DJ?
DJ STAZ: Loading in and out of venues is pretty much the only con of the job! We DJs don’t have too much to complain about – we get to play music for a living, and that’s pretty amazing. PLUS, QSC makes load in easy with the new KC12s.

DJ LIFE: Do you have any DJ-related pet peeves?
DJ STAZ: When the DJ does not listen to their client. It’s their wedding/event – it should be about them and their music taste. Being a mobile event DJ means learning how to be truly open format.

DJ LIFE: How has being a DJ impacted your personal/family life?
DJ STAZ: Music has always been my purpose so I’m grateful for how being a DJ has impacted my personal and family life. Even when life is busy with events I’m always amazed that I get to do this for a living and share it with my friends and family. I have missed a few concerts because of weddings but it is what it is!

DJ LIFE: What is the most important life lesson you have gained from your experience as a DJ?
DJ STAZ: Don’t wait for moments – create them.
