Welcome to the September 2025 edition of Behind the Wedding Music – your go-to guide for building unforgettable wedding playlists. Each month, we spotlight brand-new tracks along with notable lyrics, emotional context, and fun facts to help DJs curate the perfect soundtrack for the big day.

New wedding song ideas from August 2025:

    Tears

    Sabrina Carpenter

    August 29, 2025

Just like Carpenter’s other popular hits, it is mid-tempo but could turn into a popular party hit.

Notable Lyrics: “Being a responsible guy / Treating me like you’re supposed to do / Tears run down my thighs”

Fun Facts: The song is the second single from Sabrina’s seventh studio album, ‘Man’s Best Friend’. The music video was inspired by The Rocky Horror Picture Show. She encounters Colman Domingo in drag, channeling Dr. Frank‑N‑Furter vibes while leading her through glam and strange performances. Carpenter begins her Ministry of Tourism tour in October.

    Lost In Translation

    Carin Leon & Kacey Musgraves

    August 29, 2025

Regional Mexican music meets Country in this duet love song in both English and Spanish.

Notable Lyrics: “Baby, I’m so lost in what you’re saying / A kiss is the same in every language / Don’t say a word ’cause I know exactly what you mean”

Fun Facts: Musgraves discovered León through his NPR Tiny Desk performance. Carín León won a Grammy in 2025 for Best Meicana Album ‘Boca Chueca Vol. 1’. Musgraves has 8 Grammy wins. She is currently on her world tour ‘Deeper Well World Tour’.

    DEEP

    Abbie Gamboa & Aodhán King

    August 29, 2025

A beautiful dance track to incorporate into a dance set with the perfect theme at 117 BPM.

Notable Lyrics: “I’m in over my head, it’s true / Nothing ever made sense like you do / Can I tell you again that I’m so in love with you?”

Fun Facts: The song is featured on their album ‘Throwing Paint’, remarkably written and recorded in just six days during a co-writing session. The song features synth-driven, trance-like elements. Aodhán has strongly influenced modern worship through contributions to Hillsong Young & Free.

    LEAN ON MY LOVE

    Jon Batiste feat. Andra Day

    August 22, 2025

A soulful duet to play as an uplifting cocktail hour song or dinner set.

Notable Lyrics: “I’ll lift you up, never run from what you’re going through / I’ll be the bedrock / Sweet spot / Never a doubt”

Fun Facts: The lyrics convey a comforting promise: “If ever you fall, you can lean on my love”. The music video was filmed in Altadena, California, at Victory Bible Church, featuring Andra Day’s community. Batiste is currently on his ‘The Big Money Tour’ with Day as a special guest.

    Dance With Me

    Ciara & Tyga

    August 22, 2025

A fun dance tune for crowds that like modern R&B tracks.

Notable Lyrics: “Come dance with me, love / Come dance with, baby / Hold on, don’t be lazy / Catch it when I throw it all back”

Fun Facts: In the music video set at the legendary Randy’s Donuts (Los Angeles), Ciara rocks a pair of bubblegum‑pink Converse sneakers which is an update to the “Converse stripper heels” she famously wore in her 2010 video ‘Gimme Dat’. The video dropped alongside Ciara’s eighth studio album, ‘CiCi’.

    Boots On The Ground Remix

    803Fresh, Fantasia

    August 20, 2025

“Boots On The Ground” is already a line dance phenomenon, but Fantasia adds her R&B flair.

Notable Lyrics: “Let your body move / Cowboys and Cowgirls, they feelin’ that groove / Sippin’ on Moonshine, fire-barrel rollin’ / I’ma get behind that thing, girl”

Fun Facts: 803Fresh described the remix as “Carolina Soul at its strongest,” praising Fantasia for infusing the track with energy, passion, and fire. “Boots on the Ground” first dropped in December 2024 and quickly turned into a viral line-dance sensation. It reached #1 on both Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart and the R&B Digital Song Sales chart.

    Give What You Got

    Jivefunkadelic

    August 16, 2025

A hidden gem in the funk genre for a background vibe or funky dance track.

Notable Lyrics: “Give what you got, it’s already gold / You’re the rhythm that breaks the mold / There’s only one you, no copy, no plot / So walk that fire and give what you got”

Fun Facts: Jivefunadelic is growing its fanbase while sitting at less than 10,000 monthly listeners on Spotify. They are self-described as making extra-dimensional grooves that’ll get your head bobbin’, your hips swayin’, and your feet movin’ all over the place.

Anyways, I Love You (Better with Allen)

    Wild Rivers feat. Allen Stone

    August 15, 2025

A romantic song meshing folk and soul for a beautiful love song.

Notable Lyrics: “Let’s not just lose it all on something dumb / I′ve been here long enough, enough to say / That I love you anyways, I love you ‘ Anyways, I love you”

Fun Facts: The song lyrics describe the enduring love in a relationship despite its imperfections. It was originally released as a fan-favorite single ahead of their 2024 album ‘Never Better’. Wild Rivers is a Canadian indie folk trio from Toronto. They are touring with Quinn XCII and The Head and The Heart.

    Cry Me A River

3 Are Legend, Timbaland, Steve Aoki, W&W

    August 15, 2025

An EDM remix of the popular Justin Timberlake track.

Notable Lyrics: “What you did / (I didn’t have to know what you did) / I didn’t have to know / What you did / Cry me a river”

Fun Facts: This electrifying remix was first unleashed during Ultra Music Festival 2025, where Steve Aoki and Timbaland dropped it into the set.
