The Knocks & Dragonette Deliver Collaborative New Album, ‘Revelation’

New York’s electronic duo joins forces with the electro-pop powerhouse for an LP that blends retro-futuristic synths, contagious hooks, and a genre-blurring sound.

We’ve officially landed in a vibrant new chapter in dance-pop with the release of Revelation, the debut collaborative album from New York electronic duo The Knocks and Canadian electro-pop powerhouse Dragonette. Available now through Neon Gold/Futures/Virgin, the album presents an electrifying blend of retro-futuristic synths, satirical corporate aesthetics, and undeniable hooks, which are all rooted in the duo’s signature genre-blurring sound.

Set in the fictional corporate world of Revelation Technologies, the album’s rollout doubles as a creative statement, placing RuPaul’s Drag Race winner Aquaria at the center of its surreal visual campaign. The project satirizes the marketing machine behind modern music and wellness culture, creating a stylized dystopia where executive-sold “magic pills” mask a deeper existential narrative.

“Revelation, to me, is some of the best music we’ve made to date. It’s cohesive, intentional, and achieves exactly the sound/vibe that we were aiming to create. This project feels like a coming of age for us creatively, and I feel like it’s a perfect evolution of ‘The Knocks sound.’” -JPatt of The Knocks

At the forefront, Revelation is about the music – and it hits hard on so many levels. The album is home to fan-favorites like “Foolish Pleasure,” “The Hero,” and the emotionally resonant title track “Revelation.” The focus single upon release, “Love Me Alive,” arises as a pulsing anthem with a euphoric visualizer starring Aquaria. The sonic palette, while rooted in dance-pop, also takes roundabouts into shimmering synth-pop and nostalgic electro, including a standout rework of Pete Townshend’s “Let My Love Open The Door.”

“‘Love Me Alive’ is the first song that The Knocks and I wrote after ‘Slow Song.’ There was no objective when we started it, but… it opened our minds to the idea that there could be even more songs in this world we created together. So to me it’s kind of the mamma song to all the others on the album.” – Dragonette

Together, The Knocks & Dragonette have created something bigger than the sum of its parts – an album that’s both sonically uplifting and culturally reflective. Revelation is a playful, polished, and pointed reminder of the power of pop to move bodies and spark conversations.
