“It’s not just an album; it’s a statement from an artist who has been breaking barriers and setting new standards within the scene.”

Australian electronic prodigy Ninajirachi returns with her groundbreaking album, girl EDM (disc 1), released via NLV Records. This album marks a bold evolution in her career, revisiting the textures of late 2000s and early 2010s dance music, while infusing it with her signature icy, glitch-infused style.

The full-length LP delves into a variety of genres including hard dance, electro house, progressive house, and trance, showcasing her ability to push the boundaries of electronic music and redefine its future.

A standout track, “Angel Music,” created in collaboration with NYC-based duo MGNA Crrrta, exemplifies the fusion of golden-era electro-pop with pulsating basslines and lively synth leads, perfectly blending both artists’ styles into an infectious, boundary-pushing tune. The album also features tracks like “Hand on my heart” and “Ninacamina” with Izzy Camina, continuing Ninajirachi’s exploration of high-energy production and avant-electro sounds.

Speaking on her “Angel Music” with MGNA Crrrta, Ninajirachi shares: “We did a tour of America together in Jan/Feb 2024 and made this song in New York, then I played it at EDC and knew we had to finish it. MGNA Crrrta are sooooo brilliant and adventurous, their music, videos, shows, everything I’m so obsessed and inspired by them. ‘Angel Music’ sounds like both of us. It’s sooooo girl edm.” MGNA Crrrta continues, “There are girls and there is EDM and there is Ninajirachi and MGNA CRRRTA…This is an international collaboration and lifestyle experience…Nina is a beacon for girl dance and EDM.”

“It’s just girl EDM…You get it or you don’t,” said Ninajirachi. “People love to ask artists how they’d describe their sound, and recently I realised mine is literally girl EDM. EDM was the music that first made me want to become a producer when I was a 12-year-old in 2012. My taste grew and changed but EDM and dance pop raised me and so many in my generation.”

Ninajirachi’s ascent in the electronic music scene can be classified as meteoric. From her beginnings as a self-taught producer on Australia’s Central Coast, her obsession with music technology and influences from artists like Lady Gaga and Porter Robinson have crafted her unique sound. Her rise was bolstered by critical acclaim for her debut mixtape, Second Nature, and subsequent releases like the 4×4 EP, which have solidified her status both in Australia and internationally.

Her 2023 tour was packed with significant performances, including sharing the stage with Alison Wonderland at Washington, DC’s Echostage, joining Rezz at the iconic Red Rocks in Colorado, and thrilling audiences at festivals like Yours & Owls Festival in NSW, Freaky Deaky Festival in Texas, and NYE On The Hill in Victoria.

Ninajirachi’s story is a testament to the power of passion and innovation in music. At just 24, she has become a flagbearer for a new generation of Australian electronic artists, making waves from festival stages to sold-out headline shows across the globe. Girl EDM (disc 1) is not just an album; it’s a statement from an artist who has been breaking barriers and setting new standards within the scene.
