The electronic music brother duo delivers the first single from their forthcoming full-length studio album set to release in 2025.
TWO LANES, the Berlin-based brother duo celebrated for their ethereal and introspective take on electronic music, has unveiled “Sign” as the first single off their highly-anticipated 2025 album.
Known for their meticulously crafted soundscapes, “Sign” is another testament to their ability to blend the emotional depth of acoustic elements with modern electronic production. The track opens with delicate, melancholic melodies that set a pensive tone. Subtle yet effective layers of percussion gradually emerge, complementing the introspective mood of the track.
The “Sign” vocals, softly embedded into the mix, glide effortlessly over the minimalistic beat, creating an atmosphere that is both intimate and expansive. It’s a composition designed for quiet reflection, showcasing TWO LANES’ commitment to creating music that transcends the dance floor.
This release follows the success of their 2024 EP, Innervision, a standout project that garnered millions of streams across DSPs and widespread acclaim for its innovative approach to electronic music. With “Sign,” the duo seems poised to continue their streak of crafting songs that resonate deeply with listeners.
Rooted in a rich musical background, brothers Leo and Rafa bring a unique synergy to their craft. Leo’s classical training at Juilliard and love for composers like Debussy and Bach inform the delicate piano melodies woven into their work. Rafa’s passion for sound design and electronic production adds a modern edge, resulting in a sound that feels both timeless yet contemporary.
Having amassed over 200 million streams and support from major platforms like BBC Radio 1 and SiriusXM, TWO LANES have firmly established themselves as leaders in the ambient electronic space. Whether a longtime fan or a TWO LANES newcomer, “Sign” offers a glimpse into the duo’s artistic evolution and leaves listeners eagerly anticipating their upcoming album.
“’Sign’ is the first single of our upcoming album. The main idea was to combine the piano with the strings which we recorded with a close friend of ours in our studio. While the track is driven by the beat and electronic elements , we still wanted to preserve the acoustic, more intimate feel in the production.” – TWO LANES
