The 13-track LP is available today (Fri., Sept. 20) through Interscope Records, includes focus single “Supercharger” (ft. 1996Montana).

Louis The Child has once again set the stage for a musical journey with the release of their sophomore album, The Sun Comes Up, out now (Fri., Sept. 20) via Interscope Records. Known for their dynamic and whimsical style, the Chicago duo, comprising Robby Hauldren and Freddy Kennett, has curated an album that showcases their growth not only as musicians, but as storytellers, capturing over two billion streams and hitting the Billboard charts numerous times.

The Sun Comes Up unfolds across 13 tracks that traverse a spectrum of tempos, rhythms, and moods, all filtered through the duo’s distinctive lens. From trap-infused beats to house rhythms, the album vibrates with a palpable energy that’s hard to ignore. It’s evident in tracks like the focus single, “Supercharger,” featuring 1996Montana, where candy-colored synth melodies take unexpected turns, showcasing their skill in blending genres seamlessly.

What truly makes this album stand out is its unabashed embrace of emotion and exploration. Opening with the feel-good vibes of “Believe It” with Madeon, the album takes listeners on an uplifting ride, culminating in the powerful “I’m Not Giving Up” with MEMBA. Each track offers a unique sound, yet they all contribute to a cohesive narrative of joy, curiosity, and resilience.

“It’s what feels worth the time and energy, doing your best to make the world brighter for yourself, and then along the way, for everyone else, too,” Hauldren explains. “When you’re intentionally making music, it’s your choice what to say. Are you going to talk about how much you hate a person, or are you going to talk about how you’ve grown from how they treated you, and try to find some new understanding through it?”

Accompanying the album’s release, the artwork featuring playful cloud monsters in a pastel sunrise perfectly encapsulates the spirit of the album — a celebration of youthful wonder and the beauty of the present moment. This theme is carried into their live performances, which kicked off today at Granary Live! in Salt Lake City. With a lineup including Jai Wolf and Wavedash, and a notable performance at Red Rocks Amphitheatre alongside Jai Wolf, MEMBA, and Daniel Allen, Louis The Child is not just releasing an album but creating an experience around it.

The Sun Comes Up is more than just music – it’s an invitation to feel deeply, embrace change, and dance through life’s ups and downs. It encourages listeners to follow their hearts and find joy in all forms, a message that resonates deeply in today’s world. Louis The Child continues to redefine what it means to be artists in the electronic music genre, proving that they are not just part of the scene but are helping to push its boundaries. Whether you’re a long-time fan or new to their music, this album is a testament to their artistic evolution and a beacon for the future of dance-pop.
