Engine DJ has released its latest update to 3.2 and drops SoundSwitch version 2.8 at 10 am EST on August 22.
Engine DJ, the leading developer of cross-platform DJ software solutions, today announced the availability of Engine DJ 3.2. This update brings new enhancements to both the embedded Engine DJ OS and the Engine DJ Desktop software. Engine DJ was the first to bring Wi-Fi connectivity, on-board lighting control, standalone embedded sampler, and Amazon Music streaming to the DJ booth. Now, 3.2 adds exciting new features like Day Mode, new FX selection options, Fuzzy Key mixing and more.
DAY MODE
Just in time for outdoor parties and poolside gigs, Day Mode reverses the contrast of the screen on standalone devices and adjusts colors to maximize viewability in bright environments. Day Mode can be toggled on and off easily by tapping the new layout option in the devices’ Control Center.
FUZZY KEY MIXING
“Fuzzy” Key Sync allows for greater mixing flexibility by syncing songs to the closest compatible key instead of the same key. This reduces the chance for potentially large jumps in pitch when key syncing 2 or more tracks. The Key Sync mode can be switch to the traditional “Strict” mode inside the hardware’s Settings menu.
NEW ON-SCREEN FX SELECTION MENUS
DJs can quickly select both Main FX and Touch FX with new on-screen selection menus instead of scrolling through options one by one. On PRIME 4 and PRIME 4+, this option only applies to the Touch FX currently and the new Main FX selection menu will be added in a future release.
NEW FLEX GATE FX
The current Auto Gate effect has been replaced with Flex Gate. This new and improved gate effect has various gate types and patterns that synchronize to the track’s phase, offering multiple customization options to add excitement and tension to build-ups and mixes.
DOWNBEAT DETECTION ENHANCEMENT
Engine DJ Desktop and Engine DJ OS now have enhanced downbeat detection capabilities, which more accurately identifies the first beat of a track. To take advantage of this enhancement, tracks will need to be reanalyzed in Engine DJ Desktop.
MANY MORE ENHANCEMENTS AND FIXES
Engine DJ 3.2 brings many additional enhancements and fixes to both Engine DJ OS and Engine DJ Desktop. This list of features can be viewed in the official Release Notes available at enginedj.com.
AVAILABILITY
Engine DJ 3.2 OS and Desktop are now available for free download at enginedj.com. Supported hardware users can download Engine DJ OS directly from their device via Wi-Fi or wired connection.
