Jaydon Lewis Teams With UK-MC Queen Millz on “tempted” via Helix Records

The South African maestro unites global sounds with his new track, available on May 24.

Unfiltered emotion designed to tantalize and mesmerize is at the heart of everything Jaydon Lewis has accomplished and created over the last half-decade. The South African artist has evolved from a teenage sensation, making trap beats that once dubbed him the “South African Martin Garrix” by The Times, into the face of a new generation of South African producers. Embracing his roots and championing his home nation, Jaydon is on a mission to prove that Africa is here to stay on the global music scene.

Jaydon has made it his goal to celebrate and unite different sounds from around the world. His unique style twists international flavors with his Afrobeats, showcasing the versatility and richness of African music. This mission has led him to collaborate with a variety of artists worldwide, including Britain’s hard-hitting MC Queen Millz. Their collaboration brings to life his latest single, “tempted.”

“tempted” is a seductive and raw track that slithers around listeners and club-goers, enriching the atmosphere and bringing a sense of gleeful rowdiness. Jaydon masterfully combines contemporary Amapiano structures with deep house stabs, tech house hats and mallets, and Brazilian-inspired percussion. The result is a bold, sexy, and refreshing soundscape that highlights Jaydon’s ability to blend international influences with Amapiano. Queen Millz’s ferocious and playful vocals perfectly complement the track, making it a hit from Johannesburg to London to Tokyo and beyond.

“Creating this record felt like painting an idea, mixing amapiano, deep house, and atmospheric textures. Each beat and melody carries emotion, highlighting syncopation, African rhythm and melody with progression. I also accomplished my goal of bringing international flavors to Amapiano which Queen Millz became ‘the cherry on top’ and unleashed a mesmerizing vocal that perfectly balanced the sound.”

“tempted” follows a series of successful releases for Jaydon, including his viral TikTok track “GTAmapiano,” a remix of Mabel’s “Finders Keepers”, and “don’t you see freestyle Part 2” with Miraa May and Lady Du. Over the past year, Jaydon has enjoyed significant radio play in the UK, including the “Radioactive Track of the Week” from DJ Target and multiple CassKid songs of the week. His music has also received spins from Remi Burgz and extensive play on BBC Radio 1XTRA. Globally, he has been featured on KISS FM, Sirius XM, Good Hope FM in Cape Town, and various stations across Europe, Asia, and Australia. He is set to debut his BBC 1XTRA mix for Jeremiah Asiamah’s “Get Lit Mix” soon.

As Amapiano and Afrobeats-based electronic music continues its global rise, Jaydon Lewis stands at the forefront, positioning himself as the South African export to lead the charge. With his ability to astound listeners and his rapidly growing global profile, Jaydon is poised to become a significant name in the music industry. Signed to Helix Records last year, he is on a trajectory that will see him performing and recognized worldwide.
