There are big plans for the inaugural edition of THE EDIT Studio, and DJ LIFE learns more from Shawn Hazan, CEO of HMG.

Slated to make its debut at DJX ‘24, there are big plans for the inaugural edition of THE EDIT Studio. With early registration now open for DJX ‘24, past and upcoming attendees of the annual show are already gearing up for its return to the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City, NJ from August 5-8, 2024.

Since its announcement just one month ago, the upcoming launch of THE EDIT Studio at DJX has already been generating buzz and building additional hype around the next installment of DJX. With space limited, find even more information and be part of the inaugural edition of THE EDIT Studio, here.

DJ LIFE caught up with Shawn Hazan, CEO of Hazan Media Group (HMG) and DJX Show, to discuss the recently announced forthcoming launch of THE EDIT Studio.

DJ LIFE: DJX is introducing THE EDIT Studio in ’24. What are some of the main goals for the launch at the show’s next edition?

Hazan: Our goals are future forward, doing our part to encourage industry evolution, and to create opportunity for the community we serve. We see THE EDIT as a culturally relevant hub that fosters collaboration for the DJs, recording, production, podcasting, and the gaming communities focused on content creation. It also becomes a meeting place, that speaks to those goals and offers opportunities through networking and education.

DJ LIFE: With that said, what opportunities does THE EDIT Studio provide as an addition to DJX ’24?

Hazan: It creates a series of opportunities for exhibitors, attendees, and the industry.

    EXHIBITORS:

    • Exhibiting companies will gain exposure to an increased audience
    • Industry brands can exhibit in a single event showcasing a larger product offering while lowering their overall tradeshow budget
    • Exhibiting brands working with retailers onsite will have opportunity to generate more revenue
    • Simplifies the exhibiting process by providing a turn-key booth package

    ATTENDEES:

    • Attendees will access a larger network and access more collaborative opportunities in content creation
    • Addresses the trend of content creation as has been requested by attendees
    • Adds an immersive showcase to learn and shop the “studio” category making a more valuable DJX Experience
    • Enhances skills that could lead to additional revenue opportunities
    • Fosters creativity amongst talent from different industry categories
    • Provides a “hub” for networking and inspiration

    INDUSTRY:

    • Offers new talent showcase opportunities for artists, labels and radio stations
    • Expands industry education, workshops, keynotes, and panel discussions
    • Brings together talent complimentary market segments
    • Continues our commitment to encourage inclusive industry evolution
    • Represents a natural progression for the industry

DJ LIFE: What component are you adding to DJX with THE EDIT Studio?

Hazan: THE EDITwill have three components

    • An elevated neighborhood on the DJX Show Floor
    • Education tracks inclusive of sponsored seminars, celebrity workshops, keynotes, and industry panel discussions
    • Working to offer an onsite sponsored working studio onsite

DJ LIFE: In what ways will THE EDIT Studio be a “neighborhood” within the DJX show floor?

Hazan: THE EDIT Studio is designed to engage the already 5,000+ attendees that are increasingly interested in studio, recording, and music production featured as a curated space on the DJX Show floor. Essentially a “base camp” for content creators.

DJ LIFE: We saw the rendering for THE EDIT Studio, can you explain?

Hazan: The rendering is a concept of how the layout will look, the neighborhood will have wall to wall carpeting and a branded fabric backwall. The studio spaces themselves come in 10×10 increments will include, Wi-Fi, electrical drop, black theater drape, a TV monitor, side chair, black draped table, and, of course, signage. Supported by a powerful marketing campaign. There is a potential to add lounges and celebrity workshops within the space as well.
