Glendale, Ariz. – Hugo Drax, the longtime American Disc Jockey Association president, passed away this past Thursday, June 19. He had been battling cancer for several years.
In addition to his duties helming the ADJA, “Dr. Drax” was a vigorous advocate for the mobile-DJ industry and a mentor and friend to many in its extended community. With his presence at trade shows like DJX/DJ Expo and appearances on industry podcasts and more, Drax offered useful advice and more, always with a veteran perspective on the industry.
DJ LIFE and DJX (and its predecessors DJ Times and DJ Expo) maintained a long relationship with Drax and appreciated all his work, support, and acumen through the years. Drax was an insightful and generous industry stalwart and we all benefitted from knowing him.
From all at DJ LIFE, DJX and Hazan Media Group… R.I.P. Drax.
