This week’s DJ LIFE Mobile Monday DJ spotlight brightly shines on Carlito Soler, also known as DJ Solertech.

Whether Virginia, New York, or Florida, Carlito Soler is a mobile DJ that’s known professionally as DJ Solertech. As an open format DJ, Soler takes his talents and expertise to weddings and events throughout the states. The New York native was born and raise in the Bronx and has had a passion for music from a very early age. No matter what the event or occasion, DJ Solertech is a true tastemaker and he’s got you covered.

DJ LIFE recently had a chance to discuss all things mobile DJ with Soler, and here’s how it went down…

DJ LIFE: What does being a Mobile DJ mean to you?

DJ Solertech: Being a mobile DJ means more than just playing music; it’s about creating unforgettable experiences, bringing energy and joy to different venues, and connecting with diverse audiences. I get to be versatile, whether it’s a luxury wedding, a corporate event, or a vibrant cultural celebration. It’s about being adaptable, reading the crowd, and curating the perfect atmosphere no matter the setting. For me, being a mobile DJ is also about freedom and creativity—having the ability to take my skills and passion anywhere, making each event unique and memorable. Plus, the relationships I build in the industry are a huge bonus—it’s one of the most rewarding aspects of what I do.

DJ LIFE: What can you share with us about your current DJ setup? How about your dream or ideal DJ setup?

DJ Solertech: My current DJ setup is built for versatility and delivering high-quality sound at any event. I use industry-standard Pioneer DJ controllers paired with Serato DJ software for smooth mixing and creative transitions. I also have high-powered QSC speakers, wireless microphones by Shure, and lighting systems that enhance the atmosphere, whether it’s a small, intimate gathering or a large-scale event. My gear is portable yet powerful, allowing me to cater to a wide range of venues.

As for my dream setup, I’d love to expand into more cutting-edge gear, like the Pioneer DJM-V10 mixer and CDJ-3000 players. I’m also keen on incorporating more advanced lighting effects and visuals that sync with the music to elevate the experience further. Having a fully customizable setup with high-end speakers, additional subwoofers, and more immersive lighting would be ideal for creating next-level experiences at major events and festivals.

DJ LIFE: Do you have any favorite/go-to or new gear that you’ve been utilizing lately ?

DJ Solertech: My go-to gear is the Pioneer REV7. It’s perfect for my style and offers the smooth control and flexibility I need to keep the energy high at any event.

DJ LIFE: What are some of the pros and cons of being a mobile DJ?

DJ Solertech:

Pros:

Flexibility: I get to DJ in different locations and for all kinds of events, which keeps things interesting.
Creative Freedom: I can customize each set to fit the crowd and event style.
Running My Own Business: Being a mobile DJ allows me to handle my own bookings and build my brand.

Cons:
Setup and Transport: Moving and setting up all the gear can be a workout, especially for bigger events.

Inconsistent Gigs: The demand can fluctuate, with some seasons being busier than others.
Adapting to Venues: Each venue is different, so I need to be prepared to adjust to various sound and lighting setups.

I’m also looking to partner with a booking agent or talent agency to land bigger gigs that can expose me to a wider audience. This would help me reach new levels and take my career even further.
