The GRAMMY®-nominated artist sets the tone for his upcoming LP, dropping a stunning new album track with accompanying video.

GRAMMY-nominated artist Elderbrook, a multi-instrumentalist, producer, singer-songwriter, and DJ, releases his latest single, “Shallow Water.” Known for his ability to create emotive music that delves into themes of identity and mental wellbeing, Elderbrook continues to captivate audiences with his introspective sound. “Shallow Water” will be part of his upcoming studio album, set to drop later this year.

“Shallow Water” is a pulsating and life-affirming track, building around Elderbrook’s poignant vocals and uplifting organs. The single is accompanied by a mesmerizing, choreography-driven video directed by Phúóng Vū, with creative direction from Charlie Rees, who has worked with Rita Ora featuring Fat Boy Slim and Stephen Sanchez.

About “Shallow Water” Elderbrook (who is Alexander Kotz) says, “In ‘Shallow Water’ the cards are down, bottom reached and there is nowhere left to go. The individual has to be better, do better.”

He adds, “The song hinges on these bargaining chips, on the get out clauses we give ourselves when we want to change but know it will be hard. It grapples with questions of integrity and our desire to better ourselves against the knowledge that true and meaningful change is difficult and often messy. It’s the never ending self doubt given a voice.”

Phúóng Vū commented: “In traditional Vietnamese folklore, the sky is represented by the shape of a circle, while the earth is a square. Developing upon this idea, we wanted the video to feature Vietnam’s most stunning and raw natural landscapes, in combination with holistic choreography to present the human element along with giant, abstract and surreal spheres and cubes that symbolize the earth and the sky.”

“Shallow Water” follows Elderbrook’s triumphant 2024 return in April with “Glad I Found You,” his collaboration with esteemed dance producer George FitzGerald.

Throughout his career, Elderbrook has achieved over two billion global streams from his productions, which include two critically acclaimed albums, 2020’s Why Do We Shake in the Cold? and 2023’s Little Love. His collaborative efforts feature notable names such as Kx5 (Kaskade and deadmau5), Bob Moses, Black Coffee, and Rudimental. Elderbrook’s live performances are legendary, having toured with Jungle, Rüfüs Du Sol, and Odesza, and delivered show-stopping sets on the Sahara Stage at Coachella.

Fresh off a sold-out show at Colorado’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre following the release of “Glad I Found You,” Elderbrook is set to continue his impressive live streak. His next performance is a massive summer headline show at New York’s Brooklyn Mirage on Friday, June 14. Fans can also catch him at HARD Summer in Los Angeles, his Zouk Las Vegas residency, Austin City Limits, and more North American dates throughout the year. Additionally, Elderbrook has a series of shows in Ibiza this summer and a packed festival season with appearances at Boardmasters in the UK, Tomorrowland, and Lollapalooza Berlin.

With “Shallow Water,” Elderbrook continues to solidify his position as a frontrunner in the electronic music scene, delivering a top-tier club anthem infused with heart and soul. His 2024 is shaping up to be another year of exceptional music and unforgettable live performances.
