From mainstream to the underground, Ultra Music Festival has it all. As we prepare to take on the three-day fest, here are some of our top picks that you shouldn’t leave off your UMF ’24 schedule.
Armin van Buuren
Not only does trance music titan Armin van Buuren return to Ultra Music Festival this year as a MainStage headliner, his acclaimed A State of Trance imprint is a stage host, once again. In keeping with tradition, the ASOT stage is curated by Armin van Buuren and the Armada Music/A State of Trance family. Since its induction as a stage host at Ultra Miami, the A State of Trance stage is always one of the most anticipated stops at the festival. Armin’s success continues to grow as he’s just celebrated the 10th anniversary of his crossover smash “This Is What It Feels Like” with Trevor Guthrie, as well as two new studio albums, Feel Again (2023), and Breathe In (2024). His two most recent singles, both released just this year, are two massive collabs: “Forever (Stay Like This)” with Goodboys, and “Take Off” with ARTBAT.
Calvin Harris
Last year was a big one for Calvin Harris, who is undeniably one of the biggest names in music. Making his grand return to Ultra this year, his set is one you’ll want to catch this year at Bayfront Park in Downtown Miami. Not only is his discography full of radio hits, he’s also collaborated with the likes of Rihanna, Dua Lipa, Katy Perry, Ariana Grande, Justin Timberlake, Halsey, Pharrell, Ellie Goulding, Sam Smith, Nicki Minaj, Travis Scott, HAIM, Ne-Yo, Florence Welch, Gwen Stefani, John Newman, Tinashe, Example, Kelis, Frank Ocean, Migos, Snoop Dogg, 21 Savage, Charlie Puth, Offset, and many more. Calvin’s high-energy DJ sets always keep attendees moving, and his tastemaker abilities are never in question. Last year, Calvin returned to the desert in Indio, CA for Coachella, where he turned the main stage into a giant dancefloor. Now, it’s time for him to transform Ultra Miami into one colossal, tropical nightclub.
Elderbrook
A self-taught live phenomenon in his own right, Elderbrook has become one of electronic music’s most cherished breakout artists. Not only is Elderbrook a GRAMMY® Award-nominated artist, but he’s already been dominating his own tours in addition to previous support slots alongside Bonobo, Jungle, and Friendly Fires. His collaborations with the likes of CamelPhat, Diplo, and Rudimental only elevate his budding repertoire, which includes his three studio albums, Talking (2017), Why Do We Shake In The Cold (2020), and his latest opus from 2023, Little Love. Catch his live set, which includes live vocals, MIDIs, and a multi-instrument setup.
Eric Prydz
Whether DJing a festival or nightclub set, Eric Prydz is an artist who never disappoints. In addition to his performances as Prydz, he’s also known for his world-famous monikers Pryda and Cirez D. As if his DJ sets aren’t already enough to cause attendees to flock to his stage for his scheduled set time, Prydz has also become famously known for his mind-blowing, stunning, and larger-than-life visuals. His HOLO showcases have gone on to garner plenty of critical acclaim, so when it comes to Eric Prydz, you won’t want to miss out on whatever tricks he’s got up his sleeve for this year’s Miami edition of Ultra.
FISHER x Chris Lake: UNDER CONSTRUCTION
From the Coachella Live stage to the middle of the street on Hollywood Boulevard, FISHER and Chris Lake have been taking the dance music world by storm with their UNDER CONSTRUCTION project. Individually, both acts were among the top artists of last year. FISHER’s singles “Atmosphere” with Kita Alexander and “Take It Off” with Aatig coupled with Chris Lake’s tunes “Beggin’” and “More Baby” with Aluna make for a memorable set to keep you moving. If you haven’t already, catch UNDER CONSTRUCTION at UMF ’24, because this is a pairing that’s certain to be a festival highlight.
Nina Kraviz
Nina Kraviz returns to the RESISTANCE this year as an Ultra ‘24 headliner. With more than a decade of experience as a techno and underground sensation, Nina has already amassed 100M+ streams on Spotify alone. With dancefloor favorites like “Ghetto Kraviz,” “I’m Gonna Get You,” “My Lullaby for You,” and “Pain In The Ass,” among a slew of others, Nina’s style is perfect for the Ultra RESISTANCE. So prepare yourselves to become one with the bass as you groove along to Nina Kraviz during Ultra Miami 2024.
Peggy Gou
Making her RESISTANCE debut, breakout house music sensation Peggy Gou has been rising to electronic stardom for years. With her explosive “(It Goes Like) Nanana,” she’s become one of the biggest and most sought-after names in the scene. Since the song has blown up, Peggy has been playing DJ sets at all major festivals and standalone events, in addition to releasing a collab with Lenny Kravitz, “I Believe In Love Again,” and a remix of Kylie Minogue’s “Can’t Get You out of My Head.”
Tiësto
Originally slated to perform at Super Bowl LVIII as the NFL’s first-ever in-game DJ for the Big Game, Tiësto unfortunately was forced to cancel his performance due to a family emergency. Making his return to the stage at this year’s Ultra Miami, Tiësto is not only an EDM staple, but he’s also an Ultra mainstay. Following the release of his latest album DRIVE, which was released in 2023, over the past year he’s dropped dozens of dance hits. Included within the mix are “10:35” with Tate McRae, “CONTIGO” with Karol G, “Thank You (Not So Bad)” with Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Dido, and W&W, “Drifting,” “Lay Low,” and “BOTH” with 21 Savage & BIA, among a slew of others. Don’t miss Tiësto onsite this year or on the #ULTRALIVE stream.
