After unveiling a steady barrage of singles over the past year, Flume has released his highly-anticipated third studio album, Palaces.

Coming six years after his Grammy Award-winning album Skin, the Australian talent continues to change the landscape of electronic music with a forward-thinking, 13-track offering that is simply a stunning musical journey.

Flume tells Apple Music about making his new album Palaces, “I made a bunch of recordings around the property that made their way onto the record. The record was kind of fragmented over years of doing a session in London with someone or doing this over here or on tour. So to try and piece it all together and make it make sense and feel cohesive, I’ve added a whole bunch of tones and textures from the wildlife on the property.”

He adds, “I think it’s always important for me, the emotional, to feel that emotion in music across the board. And I think it does often get lost in electronic music. It’s easy for it to get lost. So I put a lot of effort into retaining it. I just think it’s so fun producing music because you can do a warped piano moment and it’s a beautiful, ambient kind of thing. And then turn it into some transformer being murdered sound. You know what I mean? It can go from zero to 100 and then back to zero…”
