After teasing what looked to be like a new controller reveal last week, Pioneer DJ has announced the “REVolution” has begun with the news of their two newest controllers, the DDJ-REV7 and the DDJ-REV1!

Being the first pieces of equipment of the new DDJ-REV line of controllers, these two-channel controllers are an ideal solution for open-format and scratch DJs as it emulates a professional DJM-S mixer and PLX turntable setup. Each comes equipped with tempo sliders that sit horizontally on the top of the deck sections to mirror PLX turntables in a battle configuration for the very first time, while the Performance Pads and Lever FX paddles sit in the mixer section to parallel the DJM-S Series mixer design.

The DDJ-REV7 is aiming for the experienced DJs out there allowing users to maximize the full potential of Serato DJ Pro performance software and boasts a brand-new design including large, vinylized, motorized jog wheels with On Jog Display to create a tactile connection between DJs and their music.

In the center of each 7-inch jog wheel is a 3.5-inch On Jog Display which delivers essential information to DJs such as track waveforms, Hot Cues, and playback positions. DJs will also be able to scratch with style and confidence with Pioneer DJ’s signature Magvel Fader Pro.

As for the DDJ-REV1, this controller comes equipped with Serato DJ Lite software and boasts a new battle-style layout for artists looking to begin scratch and open-format DJing.

In contrast to the DDJ-REV7, the DDJ-REV1 is for entry-level DJs showcasing a spacious layout to test out new mixing techniques, and noticeably larger jog wheels compared to Pioneer DJ’s previous beginner controllers. This controller is an ideal kit starter piece for artists considering learning how to battle, scratch, and stream their sets.

The DDJ-REV1 also includes a new Tracking Scratch feature that enables DJ to automatically return the track to its cue point by moving the jog wheel from backward to forward or taking their hand away from the controller. This removes the need for crossfader use or jog wheel wind back.
